Trouble with sockets

I have two items that i want to add gems/ runes too that have sockets. THe first is an archon plate that i would like to add dol to so i can make CoH, the 2nd is mosers i want to add p diamond for more resist for my merc, but i tried to add these and it wouldnt work. Shouldnt be a lag issue i have cable internet. Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this.

are you using maphack? If so turn off maphack and add in
