View Full Version : who uses CD key????

I have a little problem and I was hoping someone could help me. When I play Diablo2 on the battle.net, after a few minutes I almost always get an interruption that says my cd key is currently being used by..... and it says by myself. So i don't know what is causing this. Game settings maybe? Or a network problem(altough nobody else uses the game)? Or even a virus?

Any help would be great

If you're game freezes up, you will get booted from battle.net, then you will get that message. Also notice how it says if you were just booted from battle.net, please wait five minutes before trying to connect. .it's because the server still thinks that you are logged in.

So how do i stop that? how do i stop making battle.net believe that i am allready logged in???

You just have a bad connection and lagged out.

It usually takes less then 5 mins. for bnet to realize, your connection is no longer there, and the cd-key is no longer in use.

Slightly off topic, but concerns CD-keys...
When during the Install does it ask for my name? I mean, It Gives the "CD-Key being used by: GivenNameHere" :scratch:

The dialog window where you fill in your cd-key also asks for the owner of the cd. It's that name that appears.

Hybrid-9, also try to slow down joining/exiting games. Wait 5-10 seconds before you exit a game after you join it, then another 5-10 seconds before you join another game.

This will help you from getting booted, I'm not really sure what you're trying to say, it could just be a bad connection like snowieken said, but maybee you're game is freezing up too, which will cause you to exit and get this error sometimes.

Log onto another realm for 1-2 minutes, come back, and it should be fixed.

I don't think you can do that. Battle.Net will only let you have one CD key logged in at a time, that's why when you press the Battle.Net button it will say "Your CD Key is Currently Being used by XXX"

If they let you log into another realm, that would kind of go arround the whole thing of Blizzard wanting people to buy their own game.
