"Group Whoopass" Pit Run Group - Season 2

I just named our group after the channel we used to meet in before the runs. This gorup has evolved into more then just a running group, its more of a group of d2.net friends now. We can use this new thread to highlight our memorable experiences in ladder season 2. I'll list the new character people will be starting.

Feerie - Sorcy
Aragon - Strafer Zon or Windy

Any members of the ladder 1 pit run group are more then welcome to return.

New members are welcome to join as long as you observe the 2 main rules.

1) Drops are shared equally
2) No use of hacks/cheats/add-ons. This includes MAPHACK.

To answer your question.....

This is a very "loose" group. Feel free to play your character any time you want or with anyone you want. If you want to get together and mf together or get experience with another group memeber thats fine or if you want to play alone for a bit thats fine also.

Basicly, its a group of "like-minded" people who can get together and do mf or xp runs together when they want. Some of my best friends on bnet I've met through this group.

I'll check the channel but the best bet will be to whisper me. even if we are in different area we can play in teh same game and benefit from the extra player xp. I guess in terms of an update, my ES sorc (ZY_LuBu) has reached L22. Can't wait to get blizzard because my offensive ability is just a gemmed short bow. :cheesy:

I also managed to create both an iron barb (L18) and trapper (L19). Countess runs are great for leveling mercs and acquiring those much needed low level runewords.

Spent a good bit of time on bnet yesterday and leveled my necro to 44. Also hooked up with zulaar, aragorn, and feerie and helped them get some quests and level. That coupled with finding an Ume's Lament for myself made it a good day :clap:

Thanks for the questing zulaar, my trapper gained 9 levels and is now a healthy 41. Congrats on finding the ever useful Venon Ward.

My ES Sorc is stagnant at 57. I've tried to complete the anya quest many times but get slaughtered by all the cold immunes + blood mana curse. I gave up and just went to act 3 for some exp and grand charm searching - when a Skull Collector (unique rune staff) popped out of a basket. I nearly jumped out of my seat when that happened!

Hello all. Its good to see evryone posting. I like reading about how other people are doing. I'm at level 76 and as of 10 minutes ago I was sitting at #166 on the necro ladder. I also did my first Ladder 2.0 Hell Pit Run tonight. :yep: I'll be doing these until around 88-90 when I'll graduate to baal with this guy.

My resists suck but i have alot of minions so I can hide behind them as they tank for me.

I'll be away on business for most of next week with little to no computer access. I widh everyone the best while I'm gone and I hope you guys find everything you want. I'll try to do one more update before I leave in the morning.

Well, after questing with Zhao_Yue (did quite a few Baal runs in norm, with the ever annoying idiots telling the sorceez to tele *chuckles*) I'm now level 38.

My time to shine will be during the week however -- I should be on during the day a bit, as well as at least two whole evenings. Should be in my mid-sixties by the end of the week. Keep your fingers crossed that wifey doesn't ask me to spend extra time with her *cackles madly*

I made it from level 9 to 15 last night and managed to gamble a rare bow with more than a few mods. Has chance to cast level 1 amp., as well as resists and a few other mods.

I can get on two days a week for play maybe Sun. and Wed.?


I had a thought to this whole group thing, it has to do with trading and helping each other level some what.

I feel this will be based somewhat on trust as well, but if we have enough people in our group, we can turn this into a sort of Guild or Clan. Not like what is in most of bnet though.

I tried doing some NM Mephisto runs with my sorc but the fight was just too difficult, so I'll put that project on hold until she gets stronger and/or I secure better equipment. After some intense Baal runs yesterday, she did manage to reach 70.

And yes -- I do chuckle a lot -- I enjoy emoting with words rather than smileys, usually conveys my feelings a bit more accurately *grinz widely* It's something I developped in my first few years of chatting online -- it just is ME.

As for dueling -- I'm not a dueler either. I'm not in this game for that. I enjoy interacting with people in a more positive manner -- maybe that's just me. Oh -- and I enjoy helping others when I can as well...

Anyway -- I intend to follow the group/clan's rules -- although the bunch of us didn't all get together yet, I have a good feeling about it.

I've been playing and leveling 5 different characters so my sorc progress has slowed down alot. She is still at 71 and is delegated to mostly MF in nightmare. Once I can get my hands on an Io, I can make Memory and be a little more confident in Hell.

I've managed to amass a bunch of Grand Charms from NM act 3 and all I need to do is somehow generate a steady stream of Pgems to cube those bad boys. Items drops haven't been spectacular, although I did manage to pick up a Vipermagi in a public Baal game.

Did some pit runs with zhao_yue yesterday. Together we found a Goldwrap, magefist, and Mav's Caster. I'm sitting at clvl 82 right now. I want to get to 85 at least before I move to baal.

To answer your question. The pit is in Act1 Tamoe Highlands. All of the monsters in the area are mlvl 85 and give xp and items drops as such. The bosses in this area can drop any item in the game.

I didn't play a whole lot this week, but I managed to get my meteorb sorc to lvl73. I also managed to find a few nice items.

Before questing with Zhao_Yue in act2 on hell difficulty, I was teleporting around the maggot's lair and then blamo! I got cursed by amp damage and got stuck in stun lock. I died shortly after.

I almost quit the game there and then, but I decided to retrieve my corpse and then kill the boss packs in the area. After some bug squishing, a piece of gold lettering caught my eye...

On the floor was a unique Crusader Bow! :)

Hey all! I made level 36 with the help of Vladicus!

Finally able to use the Endless Jail and Goulhides from Zhao_yue.

I am going to mjump into NM as of tomorrow night, as I am not getting back on tonight.

If anyone is on about this time tomorrow night, I can use a rush through NM.

Oh Yeah!!! Finally Uber diablo decided to show up in a game that I was waiting in. It's a below average annihilis at 11/15/6 but I don't care, because I finally got one.

I was sitting in the irc channel for 5+ hours because people kept on saying server 77 was hot. I was quite painful because the soj counter was incremeting by just 1 at a time. It finally did pop and everyone in the channel cheered, said good luck and went to their respecitve games.

Let me tell you that I was very excited as I went to Bishibosh to spawn him. The fight was pretty annoying, as the constant hits from the fallen triggered the Iron Maiden from Sacren's Choice, which would cancel out my Life Tap. Also, the game was extremely laggy - at one point I thought that I was hammering away at him but in fact he had bone prisoned me and was hitting me with fire and lightning. Thank goodness for absorb!

I didn't have my Black runeword so I had to rely on that unique flail, and give diablo a case of 70% slow. With only 15% Crushing Blow, it took quite a while but he eventually fell.

I think it's time to give my computer a rest. :thumbsup:

Hey all I just got off for the night, finished act 1 NM, thanks to an assist from gohanthemystic, I got the act 2 Nm offensive merc (duh!) and as we killed Andariel, a pain of Waterwalks dropped! My Fa/Strafer likes very much!

I am lv. 37 1/2 at this point am am going to try to power act through NM.
Maybe we can all set up a date once a week where we can all be on at the same time, and the rest of the time just meet up whenever someone is on .

How does that sound ?

As an update on my situation, I quested in hell today and completed act2 through 4. While questing, a flayer gave me a Um rune in the Spider Forest. The hell forge was kind and decided to give me a Gul rune! This is now the best rune I ever got. :)

I also did a little treasure hunting and I found Tal Rasha's armor in the Mausoleum.

My meteorb sorc is now lvl80 and in act5. I completed the first 3 quests and I intend to finish the rest some other day. See you guys later!

Getting just a Vex for Heart of the Oak is a pain in the butt, but you are aiming for Vex Ohm Ist - good luck =)

I guess a good way to earn runes is annilus hunting/trading, uber skiller cubing /trading or getting lucky on Baal runs.

Those are just items taking up space in my stash/cube/inventory/extra weapon slot. My peice meal kit is getting me by at the moment. The only things I'm looking to really upgrade at the moment is one of my rings, and I want a better resist all amulet. My boots, gloves, and shield could all be better, but the jewelry is higher on my to-do-list. I have 1/3 (meaning one piece Cow King's Leather) of the Cow King set. Not to lecture you on how to play, but putting on gear to retieve a body is an extremely risky manuver. That is why I just retrieve it naked or re-enter the game.
