Here goes:
I play as a Frost Zealot. I use high levels of Crushing Blow to vanquish my foes. I have a SHAEL+JAH Heaven's Light...this means I have both -33% Target Defense and ITD working for me, EXCEPT on champ/super/bosses.
I recently embarked upon an experiment to level up a might merc instead of my lvl 89 Blessed Aim merc equipped with a Reaper's Toll. My question...which merc is going to be better in the long run?
I do like the higher damage output, but if my chance to hit champ/super/bosses is not high enough, the increase in damage does not matter...Any thoughts?

If I was to make a frost zealot, I would go for a BA merc. Might doesn't even help a fanatic zealot that much, but more ar always helps everyone, especially elemental builds.

I was kind of leaning this way after noticing a MINOR increase in damage from the MIGHT MERC. The increase in AR was GREAT...because it pushed it above 10K, which in PvM with ITD and -33% Target Defense will work GREAT.
As always, thanks Stout!
As far as I am concerned, I like to have help in the defense departement. It's maybe because I play Tesladins more than Frostzealots and that most of the time I use CMPB which as you know sports IDT. I don't specially do Boss runs with those types of character so maybe that's why I don't feel that my ar is an annoyance. Anyways, blessed aimed is probably your best bet. If you want to change that than defiance. Holyfreeze is definately of no use to you but I sometimes like to use one if I judge my defense to be decent enough.
Stout has a good point as well, might is not very useful here unless your built includes max zeal and max sacrfice. I have made such a built and used a might merc and I have noted a certain difference when he was not around but that might have to do with the fact that without him my physical damage was still relatively low even with my built oriented toward physical/crushing blow.

My build does include max zeal and max sacrifice. However, the increase in damage is not significant enough to warrant the use of a might merc.
