Well...in most cases a PvP Hammerdin is using Enigma. This means that FRW is not an issue. The most valuable mod to a Hammerdin then becomes Vitality (life) or additional Energy (mana). Since most Hammerdins also emply the use of SOJ's mana is boosted tremendously.

Some Hammerdins who are not in need of FCR will also use Frostburns + SILKWEAVE in order to push MANA through the roof. This means that they are in no need of additional mana on their boots - thus, they select either SANDSTORM TREK, WAR TRAVELLER, ALDUR'S ADVANCE, IK PILLAR - ranked by order of which gives most health.

This is not to say that all Hammerdin's employ these boots, but for those who wish to increase health instead of mana, these are the boots to use.

Let's not forget Waterwalks. They can add up to 65 to life, which is considerably more than the others listed.

Not to mention +15 dex, adding up another 45 life with Vita investments.

IIRC that's the case. I remember reading that life/lvl (as on Shako) doesn't figure in to BO either, but I've never got around to testing it especially after reading contradicting information.

Yeah, i dont think shako life benefits from bo either, but again, i havent tested it.

20% Faster Run/Walk
+10% Resistance To All
+60-80% Enhanced Defense
+2 To Vigor (Paladin Only)

+2 vigor will boost synergy up a bit and xtra res is always good.

it wont boost sinergy ... because counts only "real" points
Other then that I'd say for PvP hammerdin only 1 choice of boots is eth sandstorm treks - deffense + some life (+-100hp wont make or brake you anyway) but! 20FHR! and massive poison resist (which usually most painfull element to withstand in duel since it cannt be absorbed). The only alternative to sandstorms is shadowdancers for massive FHR boost
