The other day I was doing some trading and a level 61 pal named Pitcho wanted to try on the sigon's wrap I had. Well he asked a number of times and kept saying he will not take it and will give it back. Since I had a second belt on a mule, I thought why not lets see how honest he is.
To make a long story short after 20 minutes of skirting the issue of giving the item back and dueling me a few times he just log out without letting me see again what trade items he had for exchange.
I had a feeling that was his main character and why would anyone want to get a bad rep on there main character

Well since he was on bnet most likly he did not care if any one that just meet her like them as a person. You will see this all the time. I bet if he really wanted some thing from you he would have given you his/hers acct name.
Also did you get your belt back?

The good (and bad) thing about bnet these days is that there is so few people on anymore that you will probably run into that guy again.

Oh well - i cant hardly remember all the items I have lost from "dishonest" people - i can name like full Trangs O, Eaglehorn, Skill grand charms, annihilus, BK rings, sojs, some minor runes lem+, HoZ and much more. All on europe ladder. The only thing i really miss is my 7%mf/+5 res sc, that some guy used many days and e-mails to trick from me.
When i trade i often throw items on ground to get another mule and in my experience 9 out 10 wont be there when you return. I know im a easy target, because I would rather keep my faith in people then keep my "items". So i keep getting scammed, tricked and whatever. There isnt a trick that I havent "paid" for. So far i have paid for 5x anni and i have gotten zero of them.
The only thing that disappoint me a bit, is when people pretend to be friendly - play with you for some days or weeks. Helping eachother and so on. And then i give them some godly items and *poof* they are gone like the wind. I have been playing the game for more then 4 years and i can honestly say that i havent found one single "friend" or "trustworthy" person in all those years. For some strange reason i could have played single player all these years and made as many "friends" as i have now?!
I can tell that im 32 years old, happily married with 2 children, have a dog and a guinea pig, good job, live in Denmark and play the game for what it is - a game! And off course i expect most of the players to be children and act like that - and they do! Sometimes i think B.net is the saddest place ever - a human trash can. It most work like a magnet for the dumb and immoral youngster all over the world. But still i love the game - so nevermind the gamers. But i find some comfort in the fact that most youngster i meet in real life doesnt behave like they do on B.net. I hope that it is just the "birth pains" of a new media - Internet, Online gaming, etc. And in a couple of years people wont have two sets of moral standings - one for online and one for real life.
I would keep trying my best to be a rolemodel for the new and improved future B.net. Helping out, getting scammed, giving away godly items for the smile and joy of another person, talking and being polite, reporting dupers, avoid any 3. party programs, etc.
Have fun.
yeah, it's a sad place sometimes...you can never believe what stories you hear from ppl who get scamed by actual IRL "(ex-)friends"! There's a line and those people just crossed it...It's just a game...
I think I'm to *honest* to scam people, it have never crossed my mind. Like when noobs give me way too much in a trade I tell them so...

I hate scammers, hackers, dupers, cheats and general dishonest nasty people. My mate got a load of stuff nicked from one of his supposed "friends" who he had been friendly with for a few months. He was muling an ebotd ba, enigma, etc... and when he came back his stuff was gone, as well as his "friend". Just digusts me when people do something liek that.
