Shaft or Levi

I have a lvl 77 Tesladin
Weapon: BStar (Currently looking for a Crescent Moon calibur phaseblade)
Shield: Alma Negra
Helmet: Gaze 16%
Belt: String 14%
Armor: Shaft or Levi!
Boots: Gores
Gloves: Lava
Ammy: Some crafted one (Currently looking for angelic)
Rings: Dwarf Star and Cathans (Looking for angelic)

Which armor piece should I use?

Shaft
Pros -
Higher DR %
Lower Req
Easily upgraded
Looks awesome

Cons -
Much lower def
Must upgrade to reach Levi

Levi
Pros-
Much higher def
Matches Gaze :)
Some other good mods

Cons-
Weighs a lot
Lower DR %
Looks bad

I think you're missing one of the best things about shafstop - PDR. With the much improved 1.1 Holy Shield, the added DR of the Leviathon will be a minimal gain anyway.

My choice would be the Shaftstop.

Are you going to pump holy shield? If so, I'd get Levi for loads of defense. Don't need DR% if you are not going to get hit.

Yes, i probably will, right now its level 10, and I have 22 levels + quests to complete, more than enough to max it
So I think I'll go with Levi

If Levi has at least 20% PDR then you've reached the 50% pdr limit anyway; shaftstop would give you 60% but since the max is 50 that would be useless. So go for higher defense. Even if Levi only has 15% PDR, you've still got a total of 45% which means you're only losing 5% PDR from not using shafstop. The higher defense will compensate for that unless you're fighting a wind druid, but I'd still go with Levi.

Go with shaftstop why levis str needed is way to high. With the points needed to use levi you could use them for a higher life. A realy high dr should not be a big deal. Also shaft gives you life as well. where levi gives you more str. Why get the more str if you are going to have a really high amount if the first place? Also a perfect upped shaft will give you 1616 defense. Perfect levi is still more but shaft if off by around 100 def. Also if you are looking for run walk shaft is a mid armor where levi is a heavy.

Both options seem so viable
Less Str = More life with Shaft
No Levi = Higher DR %
With Levi = More def
More Str = More damage

I do need to get a few levels of strength to be able to use Levi, which may be a problem with me being 77 and all

I think you're all missin the most important thing! What good is a character if he looks lame? I would always sacrifice a little performance for the sake of looks. Kicking *** is pointless if you don't look good while doing it.

Looking good is very important IMO

I put on Levi today, and first gaem I was in, someone complemented me :)
I'm the green macgine with my helm and shield, and I gave my zon the shaft so she's all black and gold, she only needs an SS

I think I made the right choice

come on both sucks go for coh man. Best melee ever alot with ber'd perfect coa/perfect verdongo you will have just 50+ dr with out any problem. Beside coh give crazy resis and 2 all skill. There is just no other can beat it.

CoH is just about the worst PvP armor imaginable. If you think you'll beat anyone with ~900 defense, you're in for a nasty surprise.

stout: not sure what u talking about but for me my doom zerk charge/smiter it owns mostly every zealot. That probably have 28k+ deffense.

What works for a crusader or a smiter doesn't necessarily work for a zealot, which is what we're talking about here.
