Druid lvl9 pvp, need help...

heya,

I'm starting a new char, a druid level9 pvp. Here's my plan :

items : cleglaws sword/crushflange, pelta lunata, rare belt, double nagel, rare amu, hotspur, hand of gore,biggins bonnet. (I taught about sigons or isenhart's set.. but i don't think i gonna use them)

For stat points i'm going to put as much in strenght and dexterity as i need, and the rest in vitality.
For skills i'm going to put 5 on wolf and 5 on lycantrophy (or something like that).

And ofcours i'm gonna use much charms...

The prob is that the druid doesn't got any attack at level9...
What do you guys think, will this work ?

In my opinion, a Druid not having any attacks except norm attack, will always suck, especially at level 9. I don't have much experience with vllders, but I honestly don't think this will work. You'd be better off making a cookie-cutter vlld asn.

druids aren't typically good at those low levels... but I mean, anything's possible, and you might as well try it.

For one thing, don't wear dual nagelrings... the AR is good, but you can find/gamble for rare rings that have up to 80 ar each and up to 20% in one or more resists... sure this can be hard to find, but then again, a vlld druid is hard to make.

I think you should go for a 3 socket helm , 3 socket shield, and 3 or 4 socket armor just full of those 9 max dmg jewels.

hand of broc might seem attractive for it's life and mana steal, but honestly I'd go with death's hand + belt. A rare lev 9 belt? The best you could hope for would be some kinda resists...
but with death hand + belt, you get: 30% IAS, 15% resist all, EIGHT percent lifesteal, and best of all, CANNOT BE FROZEN. I never LLD without at least 1 cold charm, to slow ppl down. Plus you'll be poison-proof from the gloves as well...

that set is just soo very hard to beat :) I'd even consider using the sword instead of the mace, for the really great damage... of course, it's requirements are very high, so at least get it socketed with a 15% lower req jewel.... with a good 2nd mod would be even better. That's my advice.

+9max jewels are nice, but if you can get them, there are +14max jewels with a lvl9 req. They're very rare, though.

Yeah, thnx for help, I agree that a druid sux at low level, and I still wanna kick some asses with it :lol:
I think I've a new plan... I didn't make any chars yet, so I can always switch on my plan :lol:

I'm now thinking of a barb with : Death's whole set (with the -15% req jewel), Cleglaws sword, and all other things I said in the first post =)

With the 2 swords I can make excellent use of double swing and sword mastery.

Like u see Ican use all the tips you got :thumbsup: I don't really care what character I use, but I just want to own my friends level15 with my level9 char :lol:

U guys think the barb will do better work ? If he also sux than i'm going for the cookie-cutter vlld asn =)

A thought.
Your barb, using deaths set, use clegaws sword and possibly clegaws gloves, if slow and kb is allowed, then use beserkers armour and helm (2 items gives u +50 life) as well as the armour giving +1 skills, hotspurs for your boots, 2 rare rings with ar, and a nice rare amu.

Skill allocation, skills from levelling and 12 skills if u get rushed through to hell (being in a party in town to kill baal and to get skill quests)

9 sword mastery
5 bash
3 double swing
1 howl
3 shout

I reckon this could give you some pretty decent damage, ar, defense and life, but just an idea.

You can, if you have someone in your party that still needs to kill baal (and has already killed the ancients), and completes that quest. You just have to be in act5 town and partied with that person, and you'll get the quest completed, regardless of your lvl. This way, a level 1 character can be rushed through the game and stay at level 1.

You talk about it as if it's an old practice. It's not; a lot of people are still building vlld and lld chars.

You attack very very quickly, and since this is softcore and damage doesnt much matter you can still get kills.

Max armour/helm. There's no way around this. THIS is what will win. Not +1 skills for a MELEE char.

lvl 9 barb :

9 bash
1 double swing

Dual clegs (9's)
Deaths hands/belt
Gorefoot
Max mask (crown)
max breastplate


The idea behind this is making them block, not letting them swing and relying on def.

u all have weird ways to make lvl9's....

my next char and guide im making will be a druid llv9 so if u can wait a bit u will find its guide on my site. its a 2.5k life lvl9 druid.

yes people still making lvl9's. i actually made 3 this ladder season, wich makes my total of 7 lvl9's. my site is under construction but in the member part , once i got time to add all the once i know, im sure u will find a good hundred active lvl9's duellers.

dont put points into dubbel swing for the baba. no shield = death. no matter how strong your dubbel swing is. dont use bp or any other armor. only advantage of barb is his high defence with shout. use a ancient armor with -15req jewels to get str till 70. and get total def at 1000+. if u get like 500 600 def on the barb ur death meat.

max bash, axe mastery, shout 3sock helm, 4socket armor, 2socket 30/20 shield, 6socket war axe, sigons set is the way to go.

i have no idea whypeople tell to use those sets exept from deaths belt. anyone who used any other set, ill be glad to prove that ALL lvl9 use 3scok helms, 4sock armors, 2 or 3 socket shields and sigons. i play in all lvl9 competitions, liga etc and i can asure that not 1 of the top 10 players uses another setup.
