It really depends on what you want it for.

Best all around I would have to say is an archon plate. it's lite, defense is good, requirements can be met by pretty much any character.

Dusk Shroud is great. requimentnts are low, really good for casters necro's etc.

If you're makeing it specifically for a barb like a titan or something that will have the 232 strenght anyway .. then go ahead and make it in a sacred.. only don't expect to pass that armor off to your necro later on.

so to sum up .. Archon or Dusk shroud.. probably the best all around. I have one in an archon.. it's great .. I love it .. my favorite is in a mesh armor which I have on my zon.. low requirements .. and nothing beats a mesh armor (for me) on a zon. :)

Breast plate for everyone but barbarians and some high-str builds, for barbs dusk or archon. Remember: life > defense until it goes like 1:50.

the main use of enigma for a barb imo is the str bonus, which would only be useful when you put it in a breast plate, as you hardly need to invest any into str after that. other than that the armor sux on a barb, only the frw and tele is nice to help catch casters in pvp. still, the defense sux and it's overclassed by many other armors like duress, stone, gloom, arky etc, which are way better for a barb... (much cheaper too :thumbsup: )

edit: did i mention that a barb looks great in a breast plate?

heh, decided to waste the last effort on ladder making a pikey wolfbarb which i know will be too slow already... made him an etheral preduence runeword... had to try and put it to some use before end of ladder :) got only 148% edefence, but still over 2k onit, so it could be an option for barbs... + it looks very nice :) :winner:

An archon looks best to me. For PvM, I would suggest getting the highest def archon that is not superior, since it costs an arm and a leg when it is superior. However, the look of an archon is one of the most common looks on a barb.
