Hiya. I haven't posted here for a long time since i lost interest in barbs whatsoever and moved on to summon necros but now I just got this sudden urge to try out the find item skill. I just find out that find item works with MF gear so that means theres a high chance of getting a new drop that could result in unique, set or whatever items. So I was thinking that only a barb can maximize mf since he can dual wield and everything and plus I needed a variant or build that does not require really good gear or that much damage to kill monsters or mf in hell or any other difficulties. Thats why i decided to make a MF thrower using the find item skill. Now heres the setup:

Stats:

STR: enough for gear (100 or something)
DEX: Rest of points after str
VIT: 100 or so points
ENE: Base

Skills:

Max Throwing Mastery
Max Battle Orders
Max Double Swing
Max Double Throw
1-20 into Find Item after maxing the above 4
1 into all prerequisites and necessary skills (iron skin, increased stamina, nat res, increased speed, etc.)

ITEMS:

-Ptopazed Harlequin Crest (don't have but hope to get it)
-2x good %ED Gimmershreds (don't have but hope to get it)
-2x ali babas on switch (don't have but hope to get it)
-2x echoing weapons in inventory for BO (don't have but hope to get it)
-Maras (don't have but hope to get it)
-Life Leech ring with mf and res mods (If i can find)
-Mana Leech ring with mf and res mods (if i can find)
-War Travs (I have a 45% mf one which i am going to use)
-Chance Guards (perf or close to it. Don't have but going to get it)
-Goldwrap (yay the one low item that everyone has and i have too :))
-Ptopazed Skullders Ire (don't have but hope to get it lol)

I know that i don't have arreats up there because first of all, i like looks more lol. And with a big helm like arreats on a barb when he has small "toy" axes, looks kind of silly to me. Thats just my opinion. And also I am trying to maximize mf so i can get good drops from monsters. Mostly i will be doing cow runs, pit runs and all those popular runs lol. Anyway, tell me what you guys think of this and make any suggestions or comments or whatever u want :)

P.S. I just to need to say that in no way am i saying this is like a totally differnet new build or whatever and i think people might have thought about this already plus only 1 other skill is being put in which is the find item skill and nothing else changed.

Just started a build like this, find item magic finder. You can also think of using two gul daggers to start with, low lvl requirement and 200% MF. This way you can start early with MF-ing.

Use Steelskull instead of a Shako. Yes, the skills are nice, but with leeching, MF, and the fact you don't look like you painted your head green, Steelskull is a better pick for a Barb.

I'm doing something somewhat similar to this but it's more based on group MFing with a clan than solo MFing.

He's basicly not the one doing the killing but stacked with nothing but MF to the break point and 20 in Find Item. He'll also be a singer I think so he's got other functions for a party other than just following in thier wake. He'd of course have to be eventually lvl 99 to find those godly items so I can see that lvling him will be a pain.

The design is still in the works but I'm sure I'll eventually get what I'm looking for ;)

wow, the suggestion of the stealskull is very good. Then i can have dual perf nagels :). Thanks for all your help guys. I wish i could get these items sooner lol but trading is the best and the slowest way to go :D

I recently got a thrower up and running. One of the things I noticed is that it's not really necessary to have a ML item. Even with base energy, the increase from BO is sufficient to keep the mana bulb regenerating fast enough, requiring only a chug of mana once in a long while. DT only uses 2 mana. So this gives you a little less restriction on gear.

I dunno if you included this in your "necessary skills", but it's helpful to have 1 pt in frenzy for the quick boost to run/walk. I keep frenzy on my left and DT on my right. It's probably the third best way to get somewhere fast (behind tele and charge/vigor), like the Pit or Ancient Tunnels. Really, it only costs 2 extra pts (1 for frenzy itself and 1 for the axe mastery to help you hit). Plus since you already have DS maxed, it synergizes frenzy, so you can actually do some dmg with it. This is where Arreat Face helps because the + all skills and + combat skills increase the run speed of a 1 pt frenzy. But since you don't like the look of AF on this type of barb, the +2 from Harly would work just fine.

Lastly FI has very steep diminishing returns past lvl 11 (1 or fewer % per pt)so that is probably the last skill you'll work on? Just a thought, by sacrifing ali babas for echoing weps, they give you +6 to FI too (since FI is in the warcries tree). I find it a pain to swap items in and out of inventory so I just take the hit on the babas and shoot for around 250 or so MF.

After playing around with dual alibabas and dual echoing weapons and a mix of one each, I would have to say that the dual echoing weapons are a much better choice for if you only put 1 point into find item. If you can dual ist your two alibabas, then they become the better choice to weild. I don't find any benefit in using one of each.
