Ladder Running Channel/Team

Well now that new ladder season is out is anyone interested in makeing a channel for ladder runnin? Such as Questing, getting groups together or just making a group? I would actually like to get a team going now so we can be pretty high up...I plan on making a Summon necro. If you like the idea or have one of your own feel free to post it in here. Someone would have to put a Bot in there because i currently can not get mine working. And think of good channel/Team name!

well i had an idea just to have a team of like 12-15 people and just like not have organized meets just have a game whenever like 4 or so or more people are online just play. theyd have to have alot of room on f list though not already taken.
and umm. if i remembered the name of the group in 09 that met every monday and thursday or whatever id say jsut to use the same name as that one.

i think this is a great idea, it would be a nice bonus to have a "GAT thing" of sorts back at the rebirth of the ladder. if no one else can put a bot in the channel i'll look into how its done and see if i cant get it done. any suggestions as to the name or anything?

I'm really interested in getting together with some guys from this forum and getting some games going. Either none of my friends play Diablo 2 anymore, or the ones that do refuse to play HC with me. Most of the friends I've made online have stopped playing as well.

I'd love to get together with some old Gat guys, since I was a member before they shut down. I've been hanging out a little in channel Op D2X, but no one ever seems to be there.

There are a few characters I plan on getting up and running for the new season. The first of which is a TK/Tele/Orb MF sorceress so that I can build an item base, and after that I'd kind of like to rebuild some of my other characters, so a hybrid assassin and a frenzy barb would be fun to replay.

Accounts are *Silkweed and *Silkweed2 on USEast. I don't think I'll be playing till the ladder actually resets though, since I don't really see the point in it right now, except maybe to harang the sewers for the hell of it.

Who else is doing the East thing?

Yeah, I remember seeing you in the channel pretty frequently. I'd love to get involved in one of those team things, but the two things that concern me are that I don't always know which nights I'm free, and I have a preference for twinked play as opposed to untwinked (I don't think any of the teams I've read about have allowed twinking).

But it gets me thinking about what kind of team would be cool to play with, even if we all leveled at different rates, so long as we all met up around Hell, it could still work out. So what kind of team would be best, hrmmm? I can't even begin to imagine the possibilities since I mostly play solo...

I guess it'd be cool to play as a Singer Barb, since you could actually get away with it in such a party. Additionally, any other barb in the party wouldn't have to spend points in BO (or shout, depending on the build).

It'd be kind of cool to make a pure kicker assassin. 20 in DT, 20 in DF, the rest into SM, Fade and Venom or something. CoT even. She'd work wonderfully well for low levels to boot, pardon the pun.

TK/Tele/Orb Sorceress - Your teleporter and cold damage
Meteor Sorcy - Fire damage
Summoner Necro - Meat support
Lightning Trapper - Lightning damage
IK Barb - BO source and physical damage
Javazon - More lightning damage
Hammerdin - Magic damage
Elemental Druid - Life Sage (I don't know jack about druids since I've never played one)

No because even without ik armor, IK barbs still do VERY nice damnage. You get alot of bonus wit out armor. The rest of the pieces you'll prolly find 9-10 of them before you leave a1-norm.

oh people GAT is still there but the forum is empty for east and west.
some of us cared for the europe part and its an active oasis of friends.

if u want to run a channel bot again the sources can be found there too. u can talk with the old gatters and admins - they will provide input about running them if u ask nice ;). just make sure u invite your friends too and u have a perfect fundament to start team games,coop or whatever u want to do over there in USA.

Almost as silly as saying poison necro with reset economy. They don't do too well without a bankload of +skills.

Last ladder season I quickly climbed the ranks until I hit #60. I no longer have any competitive ladder aspirations. I just want to enjoy a challenging build while playing with the best players on battle.net.

I guess I was just asking what exactly "IK barb" status entails. I'm guessing that it's a group of skills that benefit with the set, but don't require it to function?

This really isnt a team thing since there is really gonna be A LOT of people as it seems lol its just kind of you see some people on and you get them together and go climb ladder/quest and stuff :)

An IK barb doesn't have to have any IK set items to be an IK barb. The build is still the same; max mace mastery, WW, BO and Shout, and enough strength and dex to go along with the set once you manage to assemble it. The build is still sound.

Yes there will be a channel for this and i mostly know everyone on this forum and hopefully everyone knows me :) but people will probably be hanging out in the channel afk or not :) lol and you can get a group of people going and i dont think it will be that hard because in the start no one will be able to rush and im sure no one will mind to go back an act or 2 so that you can catch up
