Update on my Budget Necro

And so, with an army of skeletons at his back and his trusty mercenary right beside him, Budget_Barry at the young level of 63 enters hell. His disposable buddy Pyros the Fire Golem attracts all the monsters, his skeletons bash, he curses and the mercenary lends might and after a few CE's that's about that. I'll give you all an update on his stats//gear.

Vit 260

Life 836
Mana 410

Resistances
Fire=66
Lighting=68
Cold=75
Poison=-36

Skills:
Skeleton Mastery and Raise Skeleton 26, all other summon skills 1 point.
1 point in Attract, Dim Vision and Confuse. 1 point in Amp. I get Decrep and Terror from Ume's Lament.

Items:
Well, pretty much as predicted: Ral-Ort-Tal (might switch to a 3 socket Pdiamond shield), Rockstopper with Ort, dual res belt, dual res boots, Trang's gloves, 68 to mana ring (no 2nd mod), crappy +energy dualr es ring (16 and 11 res or something), Ume's lament and a +3 summoner skill ammy. I also have a +1 summoner skill charm with 16 life and some rmoe +life charms and +mana charms. In other words: nothing really great. Still, he works like a charm and butchers like there's no tomorrow.

Lets see what he does in a5 hell, thats where it matters. I know the skells will be fine its the necro's health im worried about without "great gear".

man if i were you i would find a wand with +3 to bone armor, and a head with +3 to bone armor and put them on your switch. Bone armor saved my untwinked necro many times in hell.

Its just like an early warning system " watchout your taking hits" before its to late.

And im sure you will be fine, my untwinked necro didnt even have the good stuff you do, and beat hell baal. Basicallly all he had were rares and normal items. Not one useful unique. Mind you this was the first week or so of the ladder reset so i had nothing to give him.

Ups, forbgot to mention that I also have 1 pt into bone armor and am currently putting points into Bone Wall.... sorry Rimuladas ^_^

that -36 poison number ould pose a big issue in late Act 2 Barry. I know poison is not a killer, but those darn greater Mummy guys can put the fast poison on ya and then its only one hard hit!

Are you using any Bone spell? I forget and am being lazy.....

Yes, its on europe. If you give me the Marrowwalks I'll definately be using some bone spells.


STlNGER, I was maxing out Bone wall to take full advantage of its synergy with Bone Spirit and Bone Spear. After Bone Wall I had planned on maxing Spear and if I ever got round to it spirit.

I've tried both spear and spirit...

both have pros and cons...

spear is nice since it can penetrate though monsters.... while spirit is basically fire and forget.. or course you can aim spirit if u wanted 2...

i like spear as a "main skill" switch to Spirit for big bad boys. Spirit cna drain you of mana fast while wiht some regen spear can be shot alot. It is very possible to deliver more damage with spear/min but Spirt is for the things you want/need dead fast.

1 in was it 4 curses?
You have 1 in all summon? or skip revives and mages? Personally the 1 point revives is well worht it as that can be like 7-10 Moonlord revives in Hell Act 5 and they are fun to have as FRIENDS!!!

Anyway, isnt that going to make it basically impossible to get max Spirit? 84 points +summon preregs are what maybe 94 total?

Unless i am missing smothing here, I wouldnt worry about Spirit at all or make a choice between the two as I dont think you can max both.

BTW, my Bonemancer using Spear kills very nicely in 2-4 player games using spear. With your skellies beating on things you wont miss spirits bigger damage.

I have maxed both spear and spirit, made possible due to the marrowwalks ofcourse, so i alternate between them according to neccesaty. It's mainly spear i use exept for hellbaal, he goes down quicker with sprit then spear.

Well, necros are budget class in itself :D Anyway, it isn't really budget-BUDGET. I for one couldnt afford it :)
