Hey folks, had some fun with wingblade (summon necro), neo (kickersin), prez (blizz sorc), xey(CL sorc) and christor (msle sorc) as we rampaged through A1 Hell. Imagine that, a private game that was nearly full! I don't think I can make any picnics this weekend, I am headed to Indianapolis to visit some friends.
I'll be back on sunday though, craving my D2 crack habit! :flip:

I'm going to Calgary for 9 days with marching band. I leave on the 7th, and get back whevever 9 days later is. We'll be marching in a few parades, one of which is something like "The Calgary Stampede Parade" I don't think any of the other parades are as "special" apparantly 350,000 people will be watching that parade live, and another 1 million will be watching it on TV. I think it's the equlvilant to the thanksgiving parade, but I'm not sure.
Ryan: I thought you were always on crack, especially when charging fallens with a wizard spike. Although, the charge might just be a side effect
Yeah I could chargelock a fallen all the way from the blood moor to the outer cloister and he'd still be at like half HP. But it just feels so powerful, pushing em around and whatnot. Same with smite. I do like 2 damage with it, but they still know who's boss.
Despite being a hammerdin, I think I threw at most 30 hammers throughout the whole evening.

Bah, just had to start the thread in the morning when i was catching up on some missed sleep. I could make the picnic tonight. Next friday would also work for me. Just have to think of some reason to tell my friends im not going to the fair, because i dont think telling them im going to have a pic-nic at 8:30 at night is gana cut it.:D lol I should get some play time today. But im going to stop buy the bank today to cash some bday checks, and with draw some money, and im headed up to some electronic stores to buy a pair of 6x9's for my car along with and amp for those speaker. Then i think i have to come home and withdraw some more money(this time a much larger amount) and go pay my insurance...:\
Hmm a msle sorc huh. I was actually thinking about making of those. I had one in .08 and she was a blast. How well is her killing power(as in, can kill, or cant kill at all)

ok thanks. I tried loggin on with my sorc, and it said realm down were the game list usually is. ANd then i logged out, and at the char screen it said realm down. So i just gave up as my dad was telling me to go mow. It is kinda nice though to have everything nice and neat and organized. :D

Well the picnic was a great success....
The following were @ hand - no specific order:
Ed / Pat / Kyle / Christor / Prez / Opal / Manlove / Jeff / Jim / Neo and Myself... if I missed ne1 I apologize...
Started the evening around with a run through A5 Hell... ran through Blood / Frigid / Crystal - we were bout 2 do Baal... when Ed noticed he didnt have D...
so we started a new game... took down D - then the Ancients and finally Baal...
We saw Jim was in a game by himself - so we joined him... after some chit chat - we decided to go into PvP mode and have a IronMan contest...
participants were... Kyle / Chris / Pat / Jim / Opal / Jeff / myself... Pat and Opal unfortunately died b4 the actual pvp... Opal was taken out by Raka... which is usually is IM games... and Pat was devoured by some hunters, iirc...
On the IM contest itself... Chris and myself were Zons / Kyle and Jeff were Barbs and Jim played the Assn.... after clearing Inner Cloister or we thought we did... the fun began... during the melee... we noticed a Black Archer was left alive - and joined the fracas... Opal and Pat were our referees...
I was taken out by DFA, followed by Kyle taken out by Jim, who then proceeded to take down Jeff...
It was down to Chris and Jim... with Chris zon hurling poison javs... and Jim with his BoS and prob TS... went at it... Chris had the advantage of having a 1/2 buld while Jim was close to empty....
Chris came out the winner... after Jim decided 2 charge him....
As stated b4... this was a great outing.... hopefully we'll have more...

It's always a good time playing with people you can trust.

Our mini group "Shields are for Wimps" progressed from act5 normal to act2 hell during that time. I never knew that two titanish builds could kill so well in hell. Now to worry about those resistances... grr minor details

Well now that i can drive it seems i have less computer time... But i should be on tonight after i get back from wrestling. I love my car, the only bad thing is its black......And i live on a gravel road. So it will never look clean no matter how much i wash it lol. Got my schedual for next year. Its not to bad. Although it looks like i might actually have to put some effort into school to get good grade now. :scared:
But my easy a classes are advanced Body conditioning(weight lifting), and computure programing 1(they teach pascal :yawn: ) But other then that i have english, American History, chemestry, trig and precal(one semester each). And spanish 2. Uhhg I dont like spanish class at all.

Well tommorow is go get aplications day. Gatta stop by a bunch of places. Looks like its time for me to join the working force. Thats ok though, i need gas money. lol ATM, im looking at *my home towns name* Oil(Mom knows some one that has worked there for a long time, and can get me a good job) Mc donalds, The new super wal-mart that is gana be opening on the 25 of july or something like that, Taco bell, Mosers(a local grocery story), and a bank. Im kinda hoping i can get a job at the bank because the hours would be great. No late nights on friday, only work till 12 on saturday, and im off on sunday. Would be perfect for me.

You just reminded me that I talked to the manager of the Hot Topic that I applied and interviewed at, turns out I wasn't hired because "I don't have a loud enough personality, but he really wanted to hire me" .... What kind of a reason is that? psshaw (he hired my girlfriend instead, and she quit last week because she felt he was spending too much time staring at her breasts)
If you want to move to Minnesota I can get you a job where I work Kyle, I even have a spare room if you want it. That same offer is open to Christor, so you might want to jump on it ^.^
I think I'm going to get some applications tomorrow aswell, a new job might be fun.

Too bad my new sorc will never realize her full potential due to the reset. I really like the Blizz/Ice Blast/Fireball/ Meteor build that rachil came up with. Very versatile with excellent killing power.

We rolled through act 4 and 5 with few problems. Four hellforges produced Gul x 2, Lem, Lum. I was the fortunate receipent of a Gul, my first on the ladder, so I was happy!
I think that rachil was trying to organize a ladder team to start the new season off. Not sure of all the details, he mentioned that he was posting here so stay tuned. I started last season with a bear druid....pfft!

I had a lot of fun playing with you guys last night, I always end up doing so a lot of act-skipping so taking it slow and playing it start to finish with a competent team is a real pleasure. :thumbsup:
In other news ... yeah I was thinking of getting a well-rounded team that would play pretty heavily during the first week or so of ladder. Obtaining a high level character doesn't appeal to me much, but to be the first group (or one of the first groups) of guardians would be a pretty challenging and IMO rewarding experience. I was thinking maybe a team of 3-5 people with complementary builds has the best shot of success. I'd like to play with some sort of tag just so people will know we are playing together in the event we are visible on the ladder... sort of an emphasis on our teamwork instead of individual "pwnage". I was expecting maybe 2-4 hours of play per day in the early days of the ladder. Once we obtain our goal of guardian or we perish at the hands of the bad guys (YAH RIGHT! :lol: ) I don't feel we need to play as much. Maybe an intense week or so. This is slightly more than I currently play but not too ridiculous. I'd love to just play 12 hours a day and be the FIRST and the BEST, but we all have jobs and that's just not reasonable except maybe on a saturday or something.
I think some competent builds would be:
LS+S.Master trapsin
Orb+Enchant Sorc
Oak+Wind druid.
BO/Shout/Conc barb
Summoner Necro
I think any combo of these in a 3-5 player group will be able to guardian. Once we decide who's in and who's out we can pin down more details.
While we are playing I'd like to spend as much time as possible advancing towards guardianship, and only mfing to meet the bare minimum in equipment that we need. I don't want to get to mid-NM and then poop out, mfing nm meph or something hoping that something godly will drop. IMO we should just keep pushing forward, relying on teamwork and efficient play instead of equipment.
(Awaits responses from prez, christor, xey, wing, neo... if some of you are more into solo efforts in early ladder I understand 100%, and if the time commitment seems beyond what you'd like to do I'll certainly listen to suggestions).

OHH OHH ME ME...I want HAT reborn. That was great fun...Untill i quit, not sure why i did, that was to long ago. But, i will wait to see who else says they want to be in, as i can see you are wanting some certain people, wich is completly understandable. But, if there is room, i would like play the wind druid. This also depends on when it resets. If it is next week i will be gone, so it wont matter anyways.

I think I can manage 2 hours of play a day... given the circumstances... it would most likely be in the evenings....
and I agree we should use a tag.... just like KTA , GF and so on....
I recall HAT - I just recall what it stood for...
Prez, I know my necro could prob handle most things that he can upon... but the BO and the group work... made the game easier and a lot more fun....

I like the idea of summoner+enchant, those two alone are practially enough to solo hell. I will wait for some more responses .. hehe 3 replies in 10 minutes is pretty darn encouraging.

The barb is going to be be pretty limited in hell without above average equipment. We might try having him strictly as a bo slave and run him on a second comp. Not sure if we could manage that and still lvl him simultaneously.

Hey guys/gals what's happenin. Well, my last PK Pally died on west after getting an all time high 21 ears. I made a whole thread describing his dead (soooo close to killing a lvl 74 with a lvl 19 lol).
Anway, I'm comin back to east to rain "kaos" on the low lvl people of the sewers and enchant games.
If someone would like to run any of my character on West let me know, just don't remove any of the items that are there, incase i decided to go back.
Anyway, Gotta get to mfing, my reserves are drained on east and west now. Currently looking for:
11-13 max jewels.
4-soc gothic
4 soc crown/mask/great helm
Str Charms (8 +5, or any combo getting me to +45)
+9 in dex charms
Crap life charms
Any pally shield lvl 18 or lower with nice resists and none or 4-socs.

I know I have some of this stuff, but I'd trade or "borrow" anything anyone has lying around on a mule.

Yep, opus and bill are back in my neck of the woods too. Opus had been back for a few weeks, and I was dismayed that Bill had not appeared. But then ... opus needed to find a presidential candidate that had poise, demeanor and MOST IMPORTANTLY was mindless and could be puppeted from the unseen political shadows ... and BILL THE CAT RETURNED!
Oh man, that cartoon was an epiphany. It was liked seeing an old friend again. :thumbsup:

Going this way team (I think that captures our sense of disarray ... just walk wherever everyone else walks, and shoot in the direction they shoot)

So if I can count, we have six (neo, prez, christor, me, wing, kaos). I feel thats a little bit on the heavy side, but I don't mind starting big ... and I CERTAINLY don't mind finishing big! :thumbsup: However, starting big for one day, and then waiting around indefinitely for the second day we are all online together is a situation that I want to avoid.
On the bright side, a larger team allows for more variety in our players. Personally, I'd like to try a medic/mage-aider type pally ... maxed prayer, holy bolt, 1 meditation, 5ish salvation, maxed conviction. It's a very pro-caster build and holy bolt can do some serious healing at high levels.
With more players, that's an option (and a darn good one ... huge damage boost). But if it comes down to a 3 player team and me choosing between me being a barb and being a wacky paladin, I think I'd have to go with the barb.
Six sounds doable, although i recommend that we hold the bar there...
Any more and the group gets unmangeable and getting everyone together is tough.

Neo - Trapsin w/shadow, Merc - Barb?
Wing - Orbmeister w/enchant, Merc - HF
Kaos - Wind Druid?, Merc - Barb?

I made some suggestions for mercs that would compliment our builds. I might suggest that xtor go with his fury druid build since I know he is partial to that. This would leave kaos with the barb unless we do the second comp deal for the barb.

There once was a group of Misfits that went adventuring untweenked. There was so much excitement that another three groups went out into the wilds, each called the Misfit Team Players (MTP). Not sure that anyone remembers that little bit of history... so not being one that is able to put forward enough time to make a ladder run I can't really say what the team should be called but... if'n ya'll is Misfit enough to be called Misfits, why not resurrect a proud Misfit tradition?

This sounds like a good idea to me. We could use the MTP tag, or simply go with Misfit for our tag ( though writing out the whole word misfit might leave little space to write in the characters actual name....but i disgress).
This idea gets my vote :thumbsup:
I can guess that there will be a number of old and new misfits running the ladder, some more than others, when it resets. My suggestion, for what it is worth, is add as many to your team as want to sign up, and make a secondary team of people that can keep up playing in another game. Many a team has fallen for lack of people, none for having too many. :)

jsteel - I think are goal is to run the ladder very quickly with experienced players. Opening it up to larger numbers and multiple teams is possible. Problems are mainly logistical, with each team being built in a complimentary fashion (i.e. mercs, killing skills, etc.), each teams familiarity with each others playing style (i've played with everyone on the proposed team allot...) and finally the leadership issue. Each team can have only one leader, mixing and matching players on a night-to-night basis tends to cause problems.
GOAL: Complete entire game in expeditious manner.
Some ground rules I propose:
1. This team is rachil's. He is the boss. He says go left, we go left. He says stop, we stop, etc.
2. Being untwinked we are going to be heavily reliant on each other and if we start straying then it's a recipe for disaster. So stay close together so that auras, etc. are working on everyone. Rule of thumb: if u can't see the majority of the party on the screen, get closer. From previous exp, we won't have many problems until late nm, but if we get lax on this it will be hard to change later.
3. Sharing drops. Don't think its a problem with this group since we have all played together. Suggest a drop rotation for most items that aren't class specific.
4. If you can't make it, the team plays without u. This hurts the team, so try and make it. Catch up when u can.
5. MF'ing. Bare minimum when we are together. Of course when we are doing lvling runs we'll have the opportunity to mf baal, but solo runs are on your own time.
6. Other ideas?
