Some of the folks on this forum know that my work has kept me quite the busy boy these past months. Working on a new project since first of the year with a lot of OT n stuff... I haven't spent much time on this forum posting (although I am still monitoring it every day so sit up straight you!), and a lot less time playing these days. In fact, I haven't actually played in a few weeks now.

Anyhoo, week before last my boss sends me an e-mail about a meeting appointment for me in his office to take place the next day. I'm wondering, "hmmm, wonder what's up wit dat?". So I reply asking what I should bring to the meeting? He replies that I don't need to bring anything, and also that it wasn't anything to be worried about.

So the next day I go into the meeting and find that my boss' boss is there as well. The meeting is short n sweet, they just wanted to let me know that I was doing a great job and they had a little "something" for me. My boss goes into a short little speech about what a great job I've been doing, and hands me an "acheivement award" (actually I don't remember exactly what it's called). I thank him and glance at the voucher, and am floored to see it's an award for $1000! I was really blown away (and told him exactly that).

That was really nice timing, too, because the very next week (last week), I was scheduled to take my girlfriend on a Carnival Cruise down to Cozomel, Mexico. That extra grand reallly came at the perfect time :)

So I've been working my butt off, but I really made up for it last Thursday through Monday of this week on that cruise. Oh yeah, the $450 bar tab we ran up on the cruise might have added to it a little bit :drink: Bass Ale at $4.50 a bottle really adds up at the end of a vacation.

That is an awesome story, if only things on battle.net turned out as well as things do in real life sometimes heh.

Yeah, but how long would it be before you had to ban yourself? That would suck! ;)

Hell ZF I bet I havent see your name up top as on but maybe 4-5 times in a month and it seems like 2-3 of them were just the last couple days.

Already had to do the reset on my TU-ofTeb 3 times!!!

i have been much more busy at work also, but that didnt increase my hours as i was already on 10/day jsut no work for me, so now insted of getting 8 hours online screwing off it is more like 1-3 depending on the day. Yes, more busy doesnt mean I am swamped!

Congrats on the award (and the bar tab), ZF! It's nice to know your hard work didn't go unnoticed. BofW was in Cozomel last week. Spooky.

Wow, that's pretty wild! I wonder exactly what days he was there and what cruise - I would assume cruise because that's about all Cozomel is there for from what I could see... I was at Cozomel on Sat. 6/19 from 8 AM until 11 PM. We were on the Sensation out of Tampa. There was another Carnival boat, the Imagination (same exact kind of boat) out of Miami that was there the same time that we were. Really had a blast on that cruise, that's for sure. Highly recommend it to anybody that's never been on one and would consider it! That was my first and I'm sure I'll be doing it again one of these days.

Glad to hear you had a stroke of luck, Zappafan =]

And damn... I'm glad I wasn't on that cruise... a bartab with such prices would've made me bankrupt !

No luck involved. He worked is butt off and most of all sacrificed d2 playing time. Well earned and well deserved.

Well Drat, I missed this thread! Grats on you merit award buddy. Those meetings are always scary and fun.

Would be fun to get the team going when ever your project winds down and allows you some free time *assuming you can get a kitchen pass from the GF*

Oh hey, the GF is no problem there. She likes sports and computer games about as much as I do. :D
