while I wait on the elite eight to start up and whatnot, I've just started a martial arts asn.

Do I need claw block or claw/shield?

Keep in mind I'm untwinked, or rather, poor. =D

I'll be going with phoenix strike, prolly with the Lightning Synergy.

Where can I find an Assassin FAQ for Hardcore? I haven't noticed any on dii.net or anything.

Thanks in advance.

I dont know where you could find an FAQ. But weapon block is always nice. You may or may not have know that it also blocks spells and isnt reduced by running (although your defence will suffer the same).

Personally what Id say is go for high weapon block and fade (each point gives -1% DR)... that should keep you safe and give you some excellent res.

fade over BoS?

last time i played an asn, BoS was what it was all about, but times have changed.

i use fade on my trapsin and it owns for me (since i was untwinked aswell need res from somewere ey)

but i can imagine that bos is very handy for martial arts i would say if u can get enough res from elsewere then use bos otherwise use fade

I would say go with BoS and get some res gear. Since you're untwinked, you should be able to sacrifice massive +skills and such for some nice res. For untwinked I recommend claw block, especially for an MA assassin. 2 claws + BoS will help an underpowered assassin, although if you're going for phoenix strike maybe you should just go with 2x +3 MA claws? I'm not really sure, never played a PS assassin. If I were to make an MA assassin, I would go with a kicksin, as they are massively entertaining. Very fun char to level, from 1-as far as you want.

Well with the lack of Assassin for Hardcore guides, who knows what will happen with my character. I am never adverse to trying stuff out seeing what works and remaking focusing on what I liked best.

I have seen Kickers kill in duels, but I guess my question is can't I Phoenix then Kick something? I mean, I know I can but should I?

If so, what kick? I love the teleport one, it's just so much fun.
