Top 10 reasons to quit D2X:
10. You’re already made 10 characters on the HCL get to lvl80+, and are not amused by number 11 as much as you think.
9. You’ve seen just about as many hammerdins and fire sorcs as you can without actually physically vomiting.
8. your keyboard has been replaced at least once due to over-use of your two favorite skill buttons
7. You’ve pk’ed with every character class, and you just aren’t laughing out loud as much any more when the ear-dispensers continue their whining as if they never expected to be killed.
6. “Dupes are for noobs”, ergo, 80% of bnet are annoying noobs.
5. World of Warcraft is just way better.
4. Tic-tac-toe is more challenging
3. EVERYONE else in your party can teleport straight down to the WS, but you’re the only sorc in the game.
2. Chicken has made HC into SC, ergo, HC is 90% full of SC-pansies.
1. Maphack is STILL for ******s, ergo, 90% of Bnet are useless ******s who would cheat at solitaire if they could figure out how.
umm......it is "Dupes R 4 Noobs", but it still works nicely.

Actually, you forgot the best reason to quit D2X - When WoW comes out, we can all start rehashing the rehash because you KNOW that WoW will be soooooo buggy in the beginning Blizz will have to have weekly bans to keep it fair.
There are no reasons to quit D2 :clap:

Well I'll say this for Diablo II
It's been a good long run. Is it coming to an end? We can hope so. If it is coming to an end then it means other games are coming out that challenge its position as THE online fantasy/rp genre world.
The Diablo series games were the first of their kind and of course there were problems. designers of new games will know in advance many of the difficulties that I'm sure the original Diablo and diabl II teams never deramed of.
Presonally I'd say the main problem with this game has been cheating. I don't totally blame blizzard for this. After all, they did try to set up and maintain closed realms for people who wanted to play cheat free. What maybe they didnt forsee was how many casual players out there aren't satisied cheating in the open realms and are constantly looking for a way to take their cheating show on the road in the realms.
the next generatyion of these type of games will have a better handle on this before they even start designing a game and hopefully can head off some of these problems in advance.

Well, of course WoW is destined to be even more full of bugs and exploits, but at least they'll be all-new, updated exploits & hacks, in a fresh new coating of cheese. And, in the beginning, it will be at least a little more free of the user-designed cheese like MH/CH. Sure in the begining of D2C, we had bone farming, and WCII had its variations on the SC zergling rush, but that's nothing compared to the cheese thats on "closed" bnet now.
Oh, and my apologies for the misquote.

and by the way, is anyone really offended by the term "w-a-n-k-e-r-s"? Its seemed to fit so nicely, but got *****ed by the server. Hmmm.

Its not a term that offends me (after all, millions of ppl do it every day..and, to quote Billy Brag "If our maker didn't want us to do it, he wouldn't have created man with arms, that just reach down to exactly there"), but its the rule of this forum, and I also have no problem following that.

Yeah, I'm fine with it too, I just never really expected that word to be one of the "banned" list. I kinda figured it might be limited more or less to George Carlin's 7 dirty words, plus a few with disgusting usage (eg, forced sexual intercourse). As a European, aren't you just amazed by what offends us puritanical Americans? I am, and I'm American.

Those are alright reasons, but not quite as accurate as the could be if you are me.
Here's the right reasons to quit D2X (for the nth time):
10. There's no point to running the forge when most runes are duped.
9. There's no point to running things that aren't the forge when most items are botted.
8. There's no point to running ladder when you've already held a top spot.
7. Your list of character subclasses you've made is 3xs longer than the number of characters that exist.
6. However, when there's nothing left in the game to do it can still be addicting for some stupid reason. That gets very depressing. Why be depressed when you can just quit?
5. Fatal exception error at memory location c0000005
4. Error decompressing sprit on line 1639
3. Dying to either of those errors.
2. Almost dying to one of those errors, accepting it as the eventual demise of your character, and just wishing it'd get it over with.

Well, in point of fact, I did quit for a while, with no reason other than WAY too busy to even sit down for a quickie E/S/Andy run. THe spirit of the post, which has been here since Hellfire, was to poke some fun at some of the games more annoying aspects. I've been a sporadic poster since the days of 1.03, and these posts are actually funnier for the fact that someone like me even bothers to post them at a D2X/C FANSITE- it speaks to the addictive nature of the game, no?
And BTW, if you're so offended at the mere mention of reasons to quit playing D2, you might wanna consider taking your own advice...
to Slash: I thought about putting one in on the uselessness of trading due to botting, but I assumed most people had given up on pubby trades long ago, without quitting D2.... ;)

Bah, if you dont play d2 for fun then theres no reason to keep playing. my personal reason for continuing playing is that im waiting for GW, and i need something to occupy my time, so i dont burn myself and become horribly disfigured for all you sexy beasts out there....... :cheesy:
