Very Superstitious?

I've lost no less than three chars

within hours of equipping them with a nokozan relic. I call this phenomenon oddly enough, the curse of the Nokozan relic. One of the deaths even came to the firewall of the summoner (if you know what the nokozan does for you you'll understand why this is eerie).

Another thing I do that is sort of a tradition is when I buy a new merc I always let the old one keep the weapon he or she was using. I have to admit though if I didn't do that I would feel a little uneasy about the Karmic debt my character might be incurring.

Also I have a great fear of The Infector of souls and NM griswold. I lost my first MF char in 1.10 to NM grizzy (A level 75ish Assassin) when i didnt pay enough attention to his mods and got smacked in one hit. a few days later while questing my new main char ,a summoner necro I died to him when my minions suddenly got tired of fighting him and moved on to another fight. I walked over thinknig they moved because he was dead. Bam Deeds.

the infector in normal has killed three of my chars ranging from a 25 to a 45. there doesn't seem to be a logical reason why he would be any tougher than say Ventar in the WSK but I've never been seriously injured by the Unholy one while the Infector just pwnz my chars even through maxed block and fire resists.

does anyone else have any superstitions about certain areas monsters or items? Interesting to hear if you do., also any rituals that you use for good luck (especially if they work!) :lol:

I would have to say archers. I wouldent call it superstitious as much as scared witless. A couple of packs in the hell pit (fanat+Multishot+might+cursed, I HAVE SCREENSHOTS!) teamed up an destroyed my summoning necro before I could blink. Instant death.

Then, yesterday, my 72 frost zealot bit it to a hell tower level 4 pack of archers with the following mods. FE, CE, Spectral hit. but wait.. I had 89 fire resist+absorb on dwarfstar, 51 cold resist (low, i know) with absorb on raven, and 90 light resist. I would have thought I would have time to at least full juv with those resists, and the archers damage as mostly elemental, but I suppose not.

So yeah, archers>matt.

My solution to it? I've never had a Bowazon die to an archer...

I had 4/4 enchantresses die, all from different reasons ranging in levels from 45-70. I've never lost any other character over lvl 26 this patch (I have about 10 lvl 70+ characters). But my enchantresses were cursed.

I finally made a 5th enchantress, and now that she can wear annihilus (lvl 70) I refuse to play her anywhere, I ONLY use her to enchant my other characters.

Ya, if I dont have max resisits I keep working at it.......

Infector is a baby if ya handle him properly, but i found out real fast how mean that punk was in Beta! Seen him kill several people or many different lvls and builds. It is what makes Classic CS runs interesting at times.

I have one MF superstition.

When I clear The Pit level 2 I won't press alt or open the golden chest until every monster down there is dead. If I miss one and then see it after I have pressed alt or opened the chest I swear loudly.

There has been no noticable increase in good drops since I adopted this tactic, but that doesn't mean it won't help eventually.....

i have similar mf tricks... if i find a gold ring or ammie, they are always the last thing i look at. I id things, sell what i don't want to Jamella or whoever, and lastly look at the ring/ammie. It takes great patience, discipline, and effort, and it works terribly, since i've never found anything but Saracens, Nozokan's, and a Nagel or two.

When I found thta SOJ in WS2 in coffin it was the very first coffin. I did the whole run, we didnt teleport and then I IDed it at the beginning of the next run.

I seldom stop to ID things unless I dont have room for things.......not a supersticious deal, just habit i suppose.

I love it when people see something drop and I get it and they ask every min what was it, is it good, what mods........they get no answer at all till I ID it and it will most likely be the next run or chance i get to stand still safely. Aggrvates some people!

For me its shako's I had 3 sorc's die right after finding shako's and putting them on they all died the run after :rant:

Now if I find them i mule them off and make a low lvl sorc and kill her to appease the shako gods. :flip:

Do you saccrifice them all in the same way? run them down the tower so they die in the big pentagram of flame or something?

it always seems i die when i put on my item iv been waiting for. "no one more lvl, that was itll be safer to put it on" I muled over my skulders and BAM a pack of SOULS YES SOULS KILLED ME

All of my character that are under level 24 have experienced a death in this patch, even my kta sin was a third rebuild, I dont know what this means, but all of them have had belts full of full juvs, so curse full juvs, curse them.

On the other hand my ik barb with no absorbs and max resists can tank the hell trav council all he wants with 2600 life.
