Well fog, it appears my lack of knowledge was the last thing to be over come to get you channel access. Sorry about that. I never had to deal with an account that got banned from trying to enter to many times.

Yeah well i still can't join... i don't know if i have to wait a day because it's like the gat registering thing or if the problem isn't fixed yet...
PS : The gat registering bug is that if you tried to enter the channel without registering you where kicked/banned... then you went to register, tryed to come back but had to wait a day to get unbanned

first off, if u are having that much difficulty getting into a channel then just give up or create a fresh accnt, i mean sheesh.... something is being miscommunicated or the bot just doesnt want you. with the lobby it sorta messes up hanging in the channel to begin with.
second, i cant believe someone would kill of a beloved friends chars, im so pissed right now my keyboard is feeling it... jim was that accnt an old or new pass?
third, hmm... so pissed i cant think of anything else.....

now even if each misfit had 5 diff accounts in that dbase, that means 120 ppl are misfits. to be perfectly honest, i know maybe 20-30 that i truly feel kin to. the rest of you are distant cousins. (giggle)
all jokes aside, at some point after "the exodus" there was a sudden immigration of accounts onto the bot, for which noone has or chooses to explain.

Expired or truely killed off? Not sure which would piss me off more.
I saw the list of 500+ and did not believe it. There are names in there I don't even recognize. Unless I am becoming brain dead, I have only added maybe a dozen people (that would be 12-20 accounts) since the real big exodus.
To be truly honest if they had expired it wouldn't have bothered me in the least bit. They were "ghosts". I could still log onto bnut with these ghosts, enter the channel blah, blah, blah. Eric thanks for the offer but I'm truly done with this game I believe.... (never say never right? :) ). I just wanted to game for a bit last night but after I saw that I just gave up and watched a movie. BTW anyone seen that movie the isle? Truly disturbing...... SmooOooOOoOoOooches to all!!

Jim, or should I say more Eric than Jim :P. I wouldnt jump the gun and blame someone here just yet.
about a week ago I gave someone the pass to an account that had no problems what so ever.. the person I gave this pass to sent me a PM asking if I killed off all the chars on that account. well I sure didnt, and the person who had the pass didnt, but yet we were the only two people who knew it and all the chars on the account were ghosts.
I think theres something going around that is allowing people to crack into accounts.
FrstByte, I'm still unable to access the channel... I think the problem is that i'm banned so even if i get promoted to member i'm still going to get that message.... did you tryed the unban command?.

If you all remember - way back in the early stages of 1.10 the BNET PW recovery got hacked / abused.... so they might still be at it....
Unless some1 is trying 2 use Brute Force on high end accts again... not sure if BF ever worked or not...

Kevin you might have to step in on this one.
FoG both Walt and I went thru and made sure youre account *Inthefog (caps dont matter) was BOTH "unbanned" and "promoted" to member status.
I assumed the problem had to do with you still being on the ban list like you suggested and did an unban on your acount and sure enough it WAS still banned. so I assumed the confirmation of the Unbanned status was good enough to fix it. I also repromoted your account just in case and confirmed it WAS promoted to member status.
then went as far as to read thru that long ban list to make sure you werent on it still and you were NOT.
so if you are STILL having trouble getting in, Im afraid Ive done all I can on my end. Kevin will have to step in and do his magic cuz he runs the bot off his PC.

The message at the beggining of the thread pretty much explains it. We're not a clan, or a guild. Just a group of friends that like to enjoy this game (and other games) the way it was ment to played (ie. not hacks, not dupes, no scamming, to exploits, no bugs).
The Isle is a frame of mind more than anything else.
BTW, for all you dueler out there, I saw a guy get town killed this morning. I'll post a thread on how it happened.

I really really doubt anyone associated with us (referring to anyone with channel access) did that to Jims account. And Im sure only people who I also hold in high reguard, as kevin put it, have the pass anyways. I cant believe anyone on that small list would EVER do such a thing either.
Like I said above, the same thing happened just recently to another account that I gave the pass to someone too, cuz I just dont use it anymore. And I know this person didnt delete the chars themselves, so it HAD to be some kind of hack. No one else knew the pass but yet it happened anyways. so I know it wasnt an issue of it being someone that I considered a friend or trustworthy person who did it.

Im with Walt too about the 592 accounts with member status. I didnt know who the hell half of them were. I can understan some people have multiple accounts.. but 592 accounts added?! Things used to be so personal before we all started going our seperate ways. We would have a full channel with people anyone would consider a great friend. We always had huge games together. Hell most of the time we had to start second games just to fit everyone in. Things just dont seem the same anymore and I blame that completely on Blizzard with thier implimation of that stupid as hell Chat system change. Who the F wanted a lobby anyways? okay Ive rambled on long enough and I dont even know what my point is. Just that Kevins post stirred up feelings.
You hit the nail on the head, Chris. The Lobby system has severely and negatively affected participation in the channel. I used to hit the channel everyday prior to 1.10. Now, I start D2, leave the lobby and go into a chat channel, and just go right into a game. I'd still go to the Misfit channel first if the game dumped you back into the channel when you came out of a game but no, they dump you back into the lobby. So you need to log back into chat and switch channels again. Very annoying.
yikes... that really sucks. sorry to hear that jim :( i really really hope it wasn't someone from here. there was never a time i asked jim for help and he said no- whether it was help with a rush or just holding a mule game. always the first to offer items to people. i think i would be physically sick if it was done by someone here. i would offer some stuff, but i can't seem to remember the pw to my mule accounts. either that or someone changed it. i'm pretty sure its the former. besides so many people have access to it, i'm not sure if theres even anything left.
592 accounts? wow. i could barely handle having 3 accounts. 2 of them had channel access- one being a mule account i tried to go into channel with accidentally. chris happened to be in channel and gave it access. even back when i was halfway active on bnet there were always a few accounts would come into channel and i'd have no clue who they were. if you're thinking of doing a purging, don't bother re-adding mine. looking back it really sucks how the lobby kill a lot of the socialization. back in 1.09 we'd come back to channel from a moomoo run and we could pick up more people or hang around and chat with those in channel.
well i signed on a few days ago just for the hell of it. i was primarily curious as to if my assassin was still high up on the ladder. to my surprise she only fell to 9th. that means i lost 5 spots in three months. no one on my f list was on. talked skaman for a few and thats was about all. i think its safe to say i've beaten the diablo addiction. only problem is that its been replaced with another game addiction :D. however, as long as there are misfits posting here i will too.
finally, this is mainly to the members who've been here a long while. i haven't heard much from those who left for SWG in a while. i'd assume some of you guys are still in contact with the long time members (nate, pat, chris, drew, fifel, etc). how they doin? i didn't know them all that well, but its certainly been a while since i heard anything from their neck of the woods. if you talk to them, throw in a hi from me. :)

Did this person have access to Jim's acccount too and did he sign on the other account while the characters were alive? Not saying he did it on purpose. If the answer is yes then he should have his PC checked.
A problem is how computer savy people are or are not. All it would take would be for a trusted person to get a trojan on their PC. A key logger trojan would do it. In todays world everyone online should at least be running a personel fire wall. Hhmm, IMO anyone would had Jim's password and does not use a firewall, should really check their pc, then install a firewall.

Chris, Walt, Kev, whoever was involved in the discussion of the person who can't seem to get access... did yall consider it might be someone who got IP banned by the bot when a previous differently named account was zapped?
Last I knew if you were banned then it got your IP also so we wouldn't have to track down all the different acct names of any assorted people trying to sneak in. (Think S3ph and his 650 Million+ attempts :) )
Course I haven't been around much the last year. :)

actually Kevin one of us needs to sort thru that members list and ban every account of hers.. I do believe there are still some on there. I dont think she would do anything to hurt any of the misfits but she needs to be banned on all her accounts reguardless.

While I seriously doubt she'd harm any of yall in anyway intentionally I do recommend giving any and all of her accounts you haven't gotten yet the boot. While she may care enough about old friendships to not screw a known Misfit that doesn't mean she's the only one with access to her accounts and others may not feel the same.
I may log in and zap the ones that are on my /f l just to be safe. If I can remember how! :)

Yep, when I entered the chan - last nite... I saw a necro and a acct I didn't recognize... I then checked his Profile .... and saw FortWorth... then it dawned on me... "Hey that's PAT" .... since that's his mb name...
After saying a quick hello... 1st I see is "demote (acct name)" - of course it shows up as plain text...
I knew enuf about OP bots - that there's a certain "trigger" 2 proceess your commands... I just suggested 2 "triggers" and they worked... :jig:
You know... that sounds like fun. I think i'll log on tonight a kick every1 out that I see. Woot!! j/k :). BTW is there a list of people that still play that inhabit the isle on a regular basis?

I actually made the CL sorc about a month ago, but she couldn't solo hell, being a 1-trick pony and all. She's just been shelfed ever since then, but she's outfitted well enough to have maxed resists in hell, near max block, and 70 fcr.
In other words, with you guys around she should be just fine ;)

As christor mentioned, ryan's hammerdin is 75? and my sorc just flipped over 78. I've been running nm meph/andy/countess/baal with her a bit waiting for some slow-pokes to get caught up! :flip:

Methinks it is about time for another misfit meeting/picnic, so that all of those still playing, and all of the newer folks, can get together, talk, and maybe play some, and generally get to know each other. I would propose a weekend evening, but a day/time that works for the most amount of people would be the best, and almost any evening is fine with me. No serious gaming required, but certainly allowed. :)
To get the ball rolling, I will through out a Friday evening, meet in channel about 8 or 8:30 pm. What say the rest of you?

Methinks it is about time for another misfit meeting/picnic, so that all of those still playing, and all of the newer folks, can get together, talk, and maybe play some, and generally get to know each other. I would propose a weekend evening, but a day/time that works for the most amount of people would be the best, and almost any evening is fine with me. No serious gaming required, but certainly allowed. :)
To get the ball rolling, I will through out a Friday evening, meet in channel about 8 or 8:30 pm. What say the rest of you?

Fridays generally work for me, although I don't get off work until 9 or 10

I'm so disappointed about Beth... Oh well.... I've been disappointed before, and I'm sure I'll be disappointed again...
Anyway, the picnic would be cool. I can't attend, but if there's enough interest, we should do it Sat. night, too. :)

I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaay rusty at a lot of things in this game... still have the 'sin I came back to make on the day that 1.10 came out but she's not much farther than I got her that day. I goofed off with her in norm act 4 a bit last night but she has no fire rez and I figured Big D would own her so I just killed stuff for a lil while and then quit.
I think i'm way too out of practice to do much besides look like Jules and kill off a character or 3 per day if I tried to play seriously. :)

Too funny!!! I gots a lil sorcie that I would be happy to run w/ ya any time, since Wing won't run with me *sniff sniff* ;) I play too slow or something... maybe he doesn't like it when I die around him... :innocent:

[sniff sniff] That is my own private Idaho game where I struggle along playing in solitude (w/ my BO barb for companionship) waiting for someone on my /f l to log on .... [/sniff sniff]
Was that thick enough on the "Oh, woe is me" bs? :lol: Rebuilding my enchantress, lvl 19 so far... spend more time collecting and grinding runes and searching thru all my cr@p to find stuff I don't have to make my sorc better... at lvl 19 :cheesy:
Loads of fun running cows with my trapper and on one computer and trying to follow on the laptop w/ my enchantress... thrills abound when I am picking up trash on the farm and the cows start to give chase... dodging around the cow pies and running for mommy...

Hey Jeff! Yeah, it's feeling like old times for me, too, even though I don't play much anymore. :) It's good to see Chris (manlove), Jim, Eric, Pat, Jeff, Bryan (yes, I saw the Machoman...)... Now if we can get Mark, Chris (not manlove), Drew, Trey, RJ, Cheng, Veri, Nate and the others (way too many to mention everyone...) to pop in and say 'hi', this would be a party again. :)

Looks like its time to quest through hell with my new blizz/fb sorc, rachil's new hammerdin and christor's CL Sorc.
I think that we are planning on making a go at it tonight, so anyone that would like to hook up is welcome.

Greetings Misfits....
After taking down NM baal w/ my necro... I joined up with Rach / Prez / Neo / Xey / and Christor (hope I didn't leave ne1 out) - journeying through Act 1 of Hell... I didn't complete the entire act though.
We ventured into the Den of Evil... followed by a stroll through Stony Field, which led 2 the Underground - and the destination was Dark Woods... once we took care of the Tree Guardians... we went 2 rescue the "Old Man" - who took his time 2 leave since he developed cramps from being help in a tiny cage...
We breached the Tower and the Countess was nice enuf 2 serve refreshments... This is where I left off... however the rest of the group continued on.... :jig:

It was an impressive night, my old /f l was popping some of the icons of the Misfit world tonight...

IM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it looks like i missed alot. I see alot of old faces are showing up. Its kinda nice to see some of ya(although i dont know alot of you that well.)
Cancun was beautiful. It was definatly a different experience. We left one night to goto the flea market downtown. Well my sister was getting her hair done, and me and my dad walked down this ally way were some other shops were at. And some guy walks up to me and says real quitly "Hey senior you wana buy some blow(some type of drug, my dad told me what it was but i dont remember) well then we walked a little farther and some guy came up to my dad, and said "Hey sir, would you like some mexican P***y. My dad is like uhmmm no no thanks, so we keep walking and he follows and hes like "sir do you like mexian P****, sir do you like P**** at all. At that point we decided to walk back to my sister and mom and wait for her to get her hair done. Also everything down there you bargain for. There is no set price, they tell you 60 pesos(about 6$) you tell them 30 pesos and you go from there. I ended up getting a chess set maid out of marble, for 30$, and she wanted 80$ to start out with.
It was great fun but im glad im home. I also went snorkaling on the coral reaf there, and that was beautiful. So a sting ray and alot of cool looking fish. And the sand down there never gets hot. It could be 3 in the afternoon and it would be warm. My stomach got burned pretty bad. Its pretty red, but the rest of me just got some color(and i needed it lol).
Sry to hear about your accounts jim. I know for a fact it wasnt expired, because i went through and refreshed them about 2-3 weeks ago. I just really hope it wasnt anyone we know here at the isle.
Well i think im gana log on for a bit then im going to bed. Ill be on tommorow though im sure.

Christor and I started a little adventure today. I started a barb to use my etheral warpike, and christor started an IK Wolf (he can explain better than I can). Neither char will use a shield, and both with heavily depend on physical damage. Shields Are For Wimps!

It's pretty much what it sounds like. I'll be using all the pieces of the IK set except the helmet (of course), and will be wearing a Jalal's in its place. My attack skill will be fury, with rabies as backup. I'll be wearing a carrion wind ring for the lvl 21 poison creeper synergy to rabies.
I think this build will work out nicely, I'll let everyone know how it goes. :idea:
