I was just curious what type of comps people use. Have been looking at some of the specialty gaming machine companies as well as the more mainstream computer dealers. I've built my last several machines and just wondered what everyone's experience was with things they had.

Alienware about 1 yr old......I gues it fits the first one.

Self assembled. About 1 year old, better than the Alienware machines that were on the market at the time, plus it looks better...

I vote self assembled...even if I didn't do it, I chose the parts.

1.8 GHZ P4 with Geforce 4200Ti...who needs a better PC when you have Diablo2 :lol:

There was no really accurate choice for me ...

Put in a "brother assembled after I whined and begged and pleaded and whined some more" button :surprise:

I did switch out the hard drive on my own though from a 40gig to an 85gig for more powwwwwers!

Wow... well the machine I played D2 on was a self assembled Pentium 2 350 Mhz, with Intel i740 graphics card (yes, I'm serious) and 28k modem.

Playing in GAT games frequently resulted in about 4-8 FPS or worse, especially with pyromaniac and... erm... freezomaniac :p sorcs running around... But at least it got the job done!

That's about the same as my parent's HP that I was using when D2 first came out.

Now I've got a few years old P3 that's getting ready to quit on me...gonna build a new one when GW comes out.

i clicked mainstream gaming, but not really sure. so far ive changed:

Tower
DVD burner
Graphic Card
Mouse
added 120 gb HD (tuned down for noice reduction)
Mousepad
Speakers
Tower fans (papst 12 db pwns jo0!)
Cpu Fan
Cpu Heatsink
Attached a heatsink to the southbridge.

I think its more of a custom made one then a company made one nowadays.
