Since it wasn't specifically set up for the formation of a new team and got burried we felt it necessitated a new thread. Basically we're looking to form a new team with some good people who are willing to compleate the game through all difficulty lvls and share drops according to whose build can best utilize them. Please look at the details below and only post if you have every intention of sticking with it throughout and the times work with your schedual (dropouts are really hard on developing teams)

Team: elite eight v 1.0
Realm: East
hc: yes
ladder: yes
equip: Untwinked
builds: whatever is the most fun for indevidual (we thought about the matrix thing and the all in one and decided we could try them if we made it to v 2.0 and everyone wanted to do it again)
playing time: 10 pm est
playing days: Mon and wed nights
goal: all quests, beat at hell difficulty, meet some new friends on battle.net to play with.
start date: next monday night June 28th at 10:00 pm est
how : meet in channel elite eight around 9:50 is

if they post here since they expressed interest in the other thread. so we have anywhere between 2-6 open spots and would really like a full group by the end of this week.

And I've never built a Holy Shock or Holy Freeze paly, so that is my first preference. Probably Holy Freeze if we have a Javazon with lightning.

Pallys are awesome.

I played a Holy Freeze pally with my friend on LAN HC. NM Gris popped on us. >_< but he was a lot of fun.

He was misdirected. I started with Charge, then switched to zeal...

Depending on how many melee/casters we have will depend on what I play. I was thinking if lots of casters vengeance+convic

if lots of melee ill zeal+conc/fanat

I really love pallys, but if we have too many, I like every class.

ok guys so at the moment the teams actually stands as compleate with:

nazrac = Javazon
Marquis = holyfreeze pally with his compliment
x2atreuxx2x= holy shock pally
semprreformanda= ??
reformedyokel= some type of pally
valor-wrath = ww or wind druid
weedkilz= ???
MamaHC= Sorc or barb

All in all we look to be pretty rounded we have at least three medium tanks in the pally's, maybe more depending on what valor and mamahc decide to do, and I can always tank to an extent when needed. Our damage looks to be mostly elemental so conviction would seem to be of great help if thats what you want to do reformed. I had a question I was going to ask in the channel but it's easier to type the reason behind it here. I was wondering if anyone was going to be into doing the KTA style updates on the boards here. I don't have the time but I'd be willing to stop in and add to the threads on occasion. The reason I ask, beyond the fact that kta's are a lot of fun to read, is that for those of us who want to continue on and do another group (once classes start back up I'm not ever sure I'll be able to, though I will finish the first) the threads should make the group known around here and make future sign ups easier and make it easier to replace those who can't do another group.

Ive been playing SC ladder forever, wanted to jump into HC ladder with a team. I know you got 8, but if you have room, or get an extra spot cuz someone doesnt show ill play. Account is *Roysta59 and I wanna build a straight zealot. Fant would be a great compliment.

I would be willing to do some writeups, but after reading valars on our group, we might want to let him do it, he has got a little better imagination:) As far as writeups about what we did with a little spice, I am willing. I will decided on what build by tomorrow now that you have a list up there, thanks for writing it all down, that helps a lot.

ok, I have had a chance to look more at the characters, and hopefully the guy that was thinking about making a pally will make an avenger, as that would really fit in and help out everyone in the group. I could if not, but I am thinking maybe a necro. NOt sure which kind yet, as I have never built one, but I think one could be fun. mama has been building sorcys with success. A barb would be nice if semprreformanda wanted to do one of those just for the BO. Just an idea.

I would love to play a pally based on the strengths of the team. from the looks of it ill prolly play a vengeance/conviction pally, I believe you call that an avenger like weedkills said. There are too many pally names to keep up with. ?_?

I got a pm from Avarielle two days ago so I'm pm'ing (her?) and we'll give her a day or so to post here and if she(?) dosn't the last spot will be up between project and Watzit2ya. Through Weedkilz and Mamahc we added three kinds of damage to our group which makes things look alot better.

Crisis.... I don't know what to make. I've narrowed it down to a werewolf druid or werebear druid. I don't know which one would be better for team play and whether to do oak sage or wolverine. Whoever is in the group please let me know which one you would rather have because I would like to do both of them equally. Up to the team!

We seem to have elemental based team, so weight it like this.

You will be a tank, along with the pallys, so its not like you HAVE to have and endless life pool.

Most of our dmg is elemental, so Wolverine might not help that much.

Your damage may suffer as a WW if you don't use Wolverine. (I haven't played a druid since .08)

If I were you, I'd go WB+Sage or WW+Wolv, but again I haven't played a druid since .08, nor in HC. Let the other people in the team chime in as well.

when you talk to avarielle, you might mention to her we could really use a barb for bo. BO plus OAK, and we will all be sitting pretty as we are firing fun elemental attacks everywhere. JUst an idea. If she would rather play a necro, I will play a barb, but I would rather playu a necro cause I have never played one.

I've played every class untwinked except for assassin I would definitely like to give a trapper light assasin a try even though the damage of course will not be tremendous. msg me on east ef-crazywolf2

absolutely play whatever char you feel comfortable with and like, I was just pointing out the one thing our group could use. As it is, with that avenger pally and all of our elemental dmg, we really could pwn. I can understand being leary about a barb thouhg as they can be fairly boring. Maybe a frenzy or something like that could spice it up? I have played one and they are lots of fun. Like yokel said though, just play what you want and you can already see what the rest of use are playing...I will be playing a poison/summon hybrid so that will be a little more specific than just necro

Exactly. Like he said if you do stick with barb the Frenzy could be fun.

I had a 62 Concentration barb that I had fun with. Also think about that, or a Berserker. You dont have to WW to be a barb =D

But seriously if you'd rather play even a teeth necro, we'd take you. Play what suits you.

Ok, so I've narrowed it down to two builds(sorry for all the trouble I just want whats best for the group) I'm going werebear, but I don't know whether to go with fire claws(we do have a lot of elemental damage) or maul. And oak sage or wolverine. I know you're going to say "do what you're most comfortable with" bla bla bla :rant: I've never played a druid so I DON'T know what I'm comfortable with. I want to do what you guys would like most. This IS a team. So please tell me guys, would you rather have maul or fireclaws? Oak or Wolverine? Atleast I've narrowed it down to a bear :thumbsup: Thanks.

Just looking at the damage output of our team I would suggest Oak Sage as with the builds most of the group is utilizing I don't think attack rating is going to be that much of a problem and the majority of the damage is going to come from elemental (expecially if you go fireclaws) and I think everyone would appreciate the life boost. Then again this is coming from someone whos going to hide behind the skellys and chuck lighting so I may be biased. If your going bear definatly look into shockwave as its a fun skill and compliments either fireclaws or maul, by keeping everything still for you to smash them.

@reformed = we start at 10 est on Monday night.

@avarielle= definatly play whatever you feel will be the most fun for you. It's great that your thinking of the team but if you get stuck playing a char you don't really want to then its not worth it. you mentioned you wanted to play an enchantress before, I'm not sure if you still wanted to but no ones going to complain about the extra fire damage if you choose to go that route expecially the summoner. Any build you want will bring something to the team for which we'll all be thankful, just play whatever you feel like.

I'll leave it up to you guys for a vote, untill the end of the weekend. I just got home from work so I haven't had too much chance to read up on what blizz said but I don't know how to interpret the word "soon" from them. I'd hate for us to get around hell and then have it reset on us, but I wasted a lot of time earlier in the season refraining from making certin builds while I waited for Blizz to reset the ladder. We actually have everyone guarenteed to be there on Monday night and I kindof hate to mess with that, as shifting the start date could cause things to fall apart, expecially due to the fact in pushes us toward when classes start up again for everyone. Maybe I'm just eager to get started and thats tainting my stance. Its up to you guys if you can weigh in this weekend and we'll have a solid decision Sunday night.

edit: from everything I read on battle.net forums(hard to garner anything useful from there beyond posts from blizz directly) is that blizz is warning of the end of the ladder but hasn't announced a new one. With all the problems of this ladder maybe it'll be a while untill they get around to starting a new one? but then it really dosn't make any sense to end this one nevermind...

I heard it would happen within the week, but we all know that isn't going to happen. I'm not sure if we should start before it resets because I might not join back up if I get to level 60 and then the ladder resets but I'm only one vote and if you guys still want to go for Monday I'm with ya :)

I say we play until it resets, then go from there. if we are busy scrambling to get high lvl ladder chars, lets do that, even together. once the flurry lvling settles down we could start our team over, or keep playing the original ones we started.

If we start these guys I'd hate to stop them.

Hmmm....Only three votes so far with it standing as 2-1 for going ahead on Monday. It's kindof disconcerting that only three of our team voted but hey its the weekend (maybe I should have done this is a poll thread instead of tacking it on the end here?) I sent a private message out to everyone who hasn't voted yet yesterday before work and I'll check back later tonight, but as it stands I suggest we go ahead and meet in the channel tomorrow night, for the benifit of those who didn't see this discussion, and we can decide then. We're having some problems at work with one of my three coworkers not coming in all week so I'm a little concerned about what time I'll be getting out tomorrow night, but I'm still planning on being in the channel around 9:50ish.

I say go for it tomorrow night. We might as well get started and get used to each other and what not. If we get reset in the middle, then it will just make the 2nd time around a little easier as we will know each others playing styles and the character makeup a little better. Just my thoughts though.
