Hi Everybody

Sorry for posting this in the hardcore forum but this is the forum and players I used to know and have fun with.
First of all I have read through most of the information regarding WoW but have very little knowledge about the game besides that.

I was an experienced hardcore D2 and LoD player until late last year. I had lot of fun with some of you in GAT-Europe. Maybe somebody who knows me is still around ? And if you plan to play WoW are you then part of and groups/guilds with old HC players ?

Anyway as stated previously my knowledge about WoW is minimal. Is WoW a new LoD-like game as I hope or could anyone take a few minutes to explain the major differences between these two games to me ?

Will there be some kind of hardcore mode as we know it from LoD ?
Thanks a lot for the help.

Regards
Madbone

Have you tried this site (http://www.worldofwar.net)? I check up there every once in awhile to see how the game is progressing.

It will be similar to LoD. And then it will also be very different in some ways. Something like a mixture of Pacman and Arkanoid. I heard some say International Karate++ meets Paperboy, but I disagree. It definately has Pacman elements. Like The Secret Yellow Dot Level (tm). But yeah, I could agree more with the Paperboy aspect, seeing as how you level up by delivering newspapers to monsters. There are dungeons where you slay lower level newspaper-worker-type monsters and collect the newspapers which you then deliver to become a great newspaper tycoon. This will include, of course, at low levels delivering the papers, then getting a job as a printer. Later you will move on to getting your own column and so forth.

In short: Ask someone else.

Hi Madbone! ;) some of us are still around.

HAHAHAHAHA. Nice one Jsiv. Amazing that you are still around. How are you doing ? Are you the only one still around ?

I have tried the other page and got a lot of nice info that tells me we are dealing with some Diablo-like game. But one thing is factual information another is hands on experience perhaps from beta participants ?

Well, the crowd is thinning, but Kev (ansettman/unoob), Steve (wendallll), ADSL (replying in a sec I bet), Baranor, Jaba, Jonas and a few others are still around. Also, we've got some new faces in GAT.

Far from the huge playing time we put in earlier, but we're around.

About WoW, I haven't checked it out much. I wasn't too keen on paying a monthly fee when I play as little as I do these days, but I might reconsider now that I finished school (for now anyway).

I might actually be one of the most ignorant people on these boards concerning WoW ;) And here I am, yapping away.

Funny thing is that I feel just about the same way as you do. I don't want to pay a monthly fee and haven't really given WoW much attention so far.

But I'm MISSING many elements of LoD/GAT play and decided to try and get some more info. Perhaps I will be fun and worth the monthly investment. If we get close at some fun co-op play like we did in GAT I would gladly pay.

I just don't know if it is that type of game. Hoped someone could tell me.

Some nice familiar names you listed. Good old ADSL, Barry (have you found a nice job ?), Wendall etc. What happened to Stress ?

If WoW turns out to be a good game it would be very nice to form some sort of old GAT clan/guild !!!

Oh and grats about the school. Just summer holiday or actually finished ?

I finished a "HF". Nice to have that over with.

Hmm, I might reconsider WoW, the team playing does sound tempting, since Diablo 2 doesn't have that much to offer anymore.

Stress doesn't play anymore. He was back on for a while in 1.10, but quickly lost interest again. Guess he's kinda busy with school and all. I talk to him on MSN once in a while.
