I'm thinking of starting a thunderstorm sorc...but I don't know which skill to combine it with...
TS can have around 1000 damage with the mastery maxed, according to my calculations......if I combine it with Frozen Orb...the build would be:

20 Thunderstorm
20 Lightning Mastery
20 Frozen Orb
20 Lightning Mastery
And the rest goes into Ice Bolt and prerequisites...

What do you think? :)

I just noticed the guide for a similar sorc :rolleyes:, only for pvp...
I'm talking about a PvM sorc...:)

Well, this isn't the most effective build for pvm because it will lack in killing groups. Orb is a great skill, but doesn't kill groups as fast as meteor / blizzard will.

Oh and you listed lightning mastery twice =P

It must be the fact that I have been playing Diablo 2 for 24 hours without sleeping...and I'm still going :)
I thought it would lack in groups, but it sounds fun :)
I play for fun...i played lots of cookie cutters and uber builds...they just aren't fun...

Currently, I'm was going to make a meteorb sorc....I put points only in Firebolt and Fireball from the fire tree and i put 1 in Blizz and all the prereqs on the cold tree...
I like the play style of blizz+fireball...cast blizz on top of them and fry away! Hm...decisions, decisions...

aehm, with the meteorb, sorry but it is worth spending the 3pts to get meteor aswell and then synergize FB and Meteor. You will never you FB, but you might just use Meteor sometimes inbetween.

Blizzard is certainly a good choice.

About Thunderstorm.

I would add Nova

20 Nova
20 Thunderstorm
20 Lightning Mastery
20 Frozen orb
8 CM (way enough with some +skills)

Try getting around 110% FCR and you should be set. Also some +skills and maybe skillers to boost the nova and thunderstorm damage will improve your playing fun alot 8)

This is really similar to the build that I am making now. Only, I am going with his original idea of the 20 into Cold Mastery and Ice Bolt.

I don't plan on having the sorc do much other than rush and MF, so I'm not too concerned about group killing, immunes, etc.

That sounds like the sorc I wanted to build...:)
Great, I'll start working on her...:) But i HATE, HATE, HATE! Makind new sorcs...they are so frustrating to play in the begining...

Does anyone remember the command line option that used to work in 1.10 beta? to kame a lvl 33 unskilled char... Does it still work now?

Don't forget that you can't trade in SPF if you do that. Rightmouse on d2 shortcut -> properties and type "-act5" behind it. Not sure if it still works.

I think thunderstorm isn't that effective, but it is on all the time so you can destroy hard bosses like duriel with nothing else than running around :D

Thunderstorm has some serious pro's and con's, so if you don't mind the con's (low damage and few hits) then it's an awesome skill to use.
