I have a pure Bonemancer setup (PVM):

Maxed Teeth, Bone spear, Bone spirit, Bone wall, Bone prison
no points in Summoning
no points in Curses (my wands gave me the curses i need)

Now that I have maxed every sygnergies for spear and spirit
and I am wondering whether it is worth it to spend 1 point in each of
Clay Golem and Golem Mastery (to have some sort of minion for shield)
I should have about 3718 Life for the clay in hell if I do that (after
estimated my +skills items) now will 3718 life dies often in hell?
Or I should not bother with them and just go for more bone armor?

by the way I have a merc that often dies because I don't have much
of a shield to protect him and myself thats why I come up with the
clay idea, any ideas will be appreciated

Spending 3 points into golem/mastery/summon resist creates a cheap and useful tank. This would be a quick and beneficial way to go. You could also get decrepify since its slow/damage reducing effects make it very useful in dueling. A lot of + skills are needed to make it last really long and to get the most out of it though.

Thanks, but is 3718 Life good enough for hell in most situations?
If my clay dies too often then I don't wanna bother with it... :scared:

2 more points isnt too miuch of a sacrifice and it makes you a much better golem. And with resists it can tank elemental chars in duels which is a good thing.

Maxing the 5 bone skills is my first priority (since its a pure bonemancer)
and I won't want to sacrifice any of those points for other things.

For me realistically I only have 2-3 more points to spend
because after I have maxed the 5 main skills, I am already
level 91 (take ages to level there after)

Thats why I wanna make the most of those 2-3 remaining points.
and if I am getting clay, I'm going to have it with 3718 Life only.
which i wonder if it can hold up in hell.

Depends on how many +skills you have. I only put 1 in CG, Golem Mastery and Summon Resist, and he never dies. I'm not sure how much life he has...I'll check next time. Get him as a tank anyway, and use curses like Attract, Terror, and Decrepify to make sure your merc and golem don't get swarmed.

Edit: Prebuff with Arm of King Leoric and Summoning ammy for a stronger golem.

The main purpose of Gumby is to cause slow...it's also very cheap to recast.

Where does it say how much life your clay has(in game)? What about skellies?

It shows when you mouse over the skill button (skele or golem)
or in the skill tap, it shows how much damage they do as well.

If I were you, I'd use those points on stuff to dick around with. Confuse is pretty fun. Try getting diff. wands, etc. with a + to that skill and try out the skills. See what you like. It's not good to go off other people's opinons 100%.

x2xatreyux2x points out another good option. 3 points gets you Dim Vision, Confuse, and Attract. They all are useful. Using Attract, a click of the mouse turns practically any monster into that tank to get the heat off your merc. I have been having a lot of fun with it in hell.

edit: Just to note, I don't have any points in the summoning tree either.
