I had recently been trying to lead an untwinked team through the game, and it was fairly decent through norm, but everything has gotten way out of hand since then. People are playing twinked, playing ahead, we by some chance had a full game tonight and it sucked, two sorcys who had played ahead, and 1 with a lidless(?) just tele'n ahead killing everything while others were lagging behind. I have had it, and looking for an honest group that plays the way they say they will and will play through the whole game. After doing it in norm, that is really all I want to do. I have read the KTA posts, and it makes me really want to get in with a good group of people. ANy ideas?

I'd definitely be in.

Right now I figure I have two choices: Give away all my stuff and just quit, or try to find a good group to play with to bring some life back to the game for me.

I like the idea of trying to build a particular team. Something like:

Super team - BO barb and druid for life, palis with good complimentary auras, cover all the possible immunities with sorcs, trapper,...
Theme team - the Kill Bill idea was a good one. There must be more here...
All one team - all sorcs, all palis, all necros,...
Non cookies - poison necro, fire trapper,... the less common builds for chars
others???


Only issue for me is probably time. I can generally play around 7pm PST (10pm EST) most nights.

Weed, if you decide not to come back to the group, I would love to join you in whatever group you decide to make/join. I'm not sure if I was one of the members you were accusing of twinking or going ahead but I can assure you I was not. I had the most fun I've ever had on Diablo and would like to continue that. Let me know whatever you decide to do man. I'm sorry things didn't work out the way you wanted them to.

Hmmm...well too bad things didn't work out as planned. Tough to keep a group together, yes it is. I might suggest, obvious as it is, clearly setting out your expectations for gameplay at the outset and get a solid consensus or better posting what you are looking for so hopefully people who join up have the same intentions (untwinked, share drops, no outside leveling except to catch up missed quests etc).

I prefer a set time or two each week as it gives people time to rush or do whatever in between group games so they don't get as restless, may also thin out those who are not as committed to playing all the way through as a team. Better luck on your next group. :drink:

If everyone in is cool with setting a standard playing time after 10 o'clock eastern, a couple of nights a week, I would be in. I like the idea of an all in one team, but I would think it would make in game item distribution difficult and could lead to some group hardship. We all know how it can be leading a group, I started the elite eight and we kindof collapsed. Don't give up as solid team play is a lot of fun and there are some good people on battle.net.

I'd be quite interested in what your saying. I play on the East realm under the accounts *ofoneblood and *ofoneblood2 if you ever want to have me on your side. I've had dreams of starting something like what your saying but I never really got the chance to finally do it. I'm on summer vacation now so I'm usually on during any part of the day and often during the night (8pm on). I'd really like to join in. I'm 100% poor so I can't xfer anything worth it. I dunno. Most of my builds completely suck. The only ones (that I've made) that work seem to be too typical: Javezon, Summoner Necro, Hammerdin, Chargerdin (so far), Trapsassin. I had a lot of fun with the Javezon and Trapsassin so I'd probably do one of them. I'd like to try something new though. Any suggestions? I've tried Singers, Conc. Barbs, Curse Necros (actually that one kinda kicked ***: Confuse + Corpse Explosion. Was gonna go BS for bosses but I was pked), and a few more as well as the ones above. With the exception of the Curse Necro, they really sucked. I'd like to sway away from Barbs. They are basically meat shields with no attack IMO (or at least mine are. Frenzy and Throwabarbs might be exceptions). If anyone knows any amusing/achieving builds for Sorcs or Druids, I'd love to hear about it. I've yet to really explore either of the two classes. I guess since you only want to go through norm then there really wouldn't be a problem with most builds but if you wish to go on, I think I'd be f'ed. I think I'll wait a little while and see what everyone else picks or what anybody suggests. If I don't like any or some are taken, I'll do Trapsassin, Javezon (maybe Hybrid or Bowazon if we only do norm), or Curse Necro. I'd be willing to make a Cleric too, but they seem unneccesary and weak (know from experience).

By the way, those suggestions for things such as everyone being the same class or something or doing unique builds would be really interesting. I don't quite understand the whole theme team one, but all the others are excellent.

ha, I was really just looking to see if there were any groups that already existed that were looking for new members. I am on east. AS far as people looking to start a new group, there is a group going on a thread down below by valarwrath for a group on east that is almost full. You guys should check that out fairly soon.

Since you mentioned KTA:

Our first group was a breeze. Everybody could show up, we were always complete and untwinked.

The second group already ran into trouble. One of the new members secretly twinked, then left us. We all got slaughtered in hell. People were consequently a bit annoyed, though our death had us all rollong on the floor laughing.

Third group we decided to go twinked and it was three sorcs teleing into 4 directions, the rest more or less trying to keep up. I have since deleted that character from this outing...was probably the least fun.

Fourth group was again untwinked, but this time Real life reared its ugly head and we also suffered some pre-mature deaths. The group was more often than not incomplete, but in the end, with great discipline, we pulled through.

Now we are again back to a quick round of twinked gaming...and its serious twinking with the KIll Bill team :).

We always tried to decide as a whole group how we wanted to play and all members have been very co-operative in this. Maybe we were just lucky, but I am happy to have found so many great people to play with and share many great adventures. Good luck on this to you as well. KTA 6 will definitely happen one day..just pop in when we are recruiting again :thumbsup:

Hey guys, not sure if we're doing this or not but if we are I've been looking to make a javazon as I've never had one before. If we're looking to do an all of one type team: pallys would be really cool with the max auras with mercs and such and I've been looking to make a holy shock pally. Beyond that I have a high lvl trapper, bowazon, and bonemancer (though not many will play with him) so I would be into playing any other class. For some reason I had assumed we're all on East not sure if thats the cass anymore :scratch:

@weedkilz = you want to join a group thats up you may as well try us as it looks like if someone would step up and pick a couple of days to meet around 10 est we could get this started. I also work till close on Mon, Thur, and Fri, but its extreamly rare that I'm not home by ten.

@det = KTA was the inspiration behind the elite eight as I enjoyed reading your team's posts. I always seem to miss when your recruting, with work and such I'm not on here that much, when I have free time, I choose to play. Maybe i'll just hurass you enough to get you to wisper me next time your forming :idea: .

oy i know, but as weed said, he was just looking for a group to play with, not to make one. I guess we all presumed he was MAKING one ;)

If someone wants to take charge of this group I'd be in. 10 o'clock est seems to be the consenses to start. I really only have the time to play because I'm not taking summer classes and as such would like to get started before classes restart, preferbly this upcoming week. We still need a couple of more players and maybe two set days during the week or to get together, but if it's possible I would love to get a good team started.

Mmkay, so lets get down to things then. I, as you can see, only really registered this forum for a few things (those being something about necros, this, and what we thought about the world event before it came out). If we're going to do something, we need to start by doing it. Like somebody said, we need to get a plan on what we're going to do. It seems as if we're going to MAKE a group and if not, tell me now so I can leave this thread. Group members should not be an issue (It looks like this one will be East since a moajority of us play there?). We can get the neccessary amount of members in no time as it seems that many people are interested. I suggest we vote on a theme or something; possibly discussing this in a channel on b.net since forums aren't the best for open, active opinion based discussion. We need to discuss what times we'll play, what difficulty we'll play to, what characters we'd use and how they'd be benefitial to the group (i.e. tele sorcs with massive damage would not be benefitial to the group), etc, etc, etc.

Holy Freeze: from a pally or merc
Vigor: from a pally
Fant: from a pally
Slow Missles from a zon
Decrep: from a nec

maybe:
warcry: from a barb
Shockwave from a werebear druid

Everything to speed us up and slow down all the spawns of hell. Wouldn't really dictate an entire build for anyone, and would be fairly safe, and I would imagine pretty fast in the mid to later stages. Depends what everyone thinks?

More imporently why don't we all meet in a channel around 11 pm est. on Mon. (tomorrow) if everyone can make it? Just for a brief discussion so we can work things out and maybe begin playing tues or wednesday night. the meeting tomorrow would probobly only take about a half hour and then we can get down to some playing? If everyone can make it lets meet in channel elite eight, name the team, get account names, decide a theme, discuss whatever we need to then we can meet in our offical channel on tues or weds?

I like that idea. The Matrix theme would be quite intersting but will all the slows and stuff layer? We could have a MA sassin with flight to add-on to the Matrix-ness too if we wanted. Don't forget about Cold Sorcs either. I can meet in that channel at that time I believe (Mon., 11pm est, Elite Eight). I've never tried a team thing like this so anything would work for me.
