catch 22

Hi ther all sorcs... Im vairly new here, just my exp here is that my sorc lvl 70 CL/ORB seems not to be able for HELL. Here lies the catch 22, my gear sucks and I cant seem to reach the areas where all the good stuff seems to drop... What to do...?? :rant:

Well I guess that depends on what you call the good stuff. You should have no problem MF/Runnin Mephisto, Shenk, Andy, etc. Those alone can net you some very nice gear including Tal drops, Silkweaves, Frosties, ViperMagi etc which is very "decent" gear. In 1.10 it's very hard to get anywhere in hell unless you go very slowly or group with other players and sweat it out.

Anyways hope that maybe helps

Helps a bit,tho i still find that it takes forever to get to kill any of those boys, my lvl 70 HF merc dies in no time and i try to solo most of the game, more fun for me.. guess i'll team up a bit till i get some more skill points... Another thing, my CL does like 2k damage at the mo, but my much lower FO seems to get me more kills, maybe i should remake and concentrate on the cold tree?? :scratch:

ya, hell got hard if you're untweaked. i doubt you will be able to run hell mephy. pindle is easy if you are fast enough and you have a merc. there might be a few other runs you can do, but i would say do nm mephy runs. he is much easier than hell and isn't too limited in the items he can drop. nm baal is also a good run. i found a vipermagi there while lvling.

Tnx ill try NM meph and pindle then... seems better than remaking this char alltogether.... i once found tal's amu in nm worldstone while still on single player.. :clap: but thats about my best find ever... :surprise:

from what i hear (i haven't bothered to check) tals ammy can drop in early nm, although it can't be used until lvl 67 or something. its just that that item has a low ilvl.

in your situation, i wouldn't do pindle runs, even hell (if you could). you are looking for something to get good stuff fast and mephy delivers in that regard. pindle is only good because he can drop any item in the game. i prefer consistancy to that.

Having just restarted recently the route I took was doing NM Trav Council runs, the loot drops were pretty much crap but I accumulated PGems very rapidly. These days on USEast 30 PGems will net you a Tal Armor or a Stormshield, probably a little less for a Harlequin Crest. You should be able to run NM Trav in less than a minute providing good loading times, so the flawless gems add up quick. Once you've outfitted yourself in a decent set of MF gear, make the move to the usual spots in Hell. (The Pit, Pindle, Eldrich, Meph and Countess are my current solo spots of choice)

I agree with running nightmare Meph and doing the pgem trading thing. My untwinked Meteorb sorc was able to find several skin of vipermagi's there, chance guards, goldwrap belts, a few nagels. This of course took a few hundred runs, but I really dig the treasure hunting aspect of it.

And whatever you can't farm, then use those pgems!
