Hey
I currently have a lvl 80 lightning sorc.
My equipments are spider / 2sojs / frostburn / light facet shako / um ss / eschuta / viper / sandstorm trek / 3 light ammy
I got 10x 1+ light skill gcs with 10x 17~20 life scs
I put just enough strength for ss with all the items together, and none in dex and energy, all into vitality.
Thats right, none in energy.
I dont have a cta, and my life is around 1100, and my mana is around 700.
That is why I use frost and sojs - 80%+ max mana altogether.
As you can see, I CAN kill with my equipments, not GODLY, but I'm sure they don't suck.

The problem is, I can't hit too much with my lightning in pvp.
Sure I expected this problem, but I didn't know it would be this slow cast.
So far I got 90% fcr, and I thought that would be enough.

What I normally do in pvp is to first tele far over from the town gates.
Then when your opponent is around 2~3 screens away, start casting charged bolts, not holding down on the mouse, but continuously, so when your opponent gets close to you to attack, they get shocked and slowed somewhat or try to evade the cbs. Then cast a few lightning at them, and either just tele around them casting lightning every once in awhile, or tele far away from them and start the whole procedure again. I found this tactic actually work well against teleing melees like wwsins.

If a melee opponent does not tele, you can just tele far away from them, wait untill they get close around 1 screen away, and don't even move but just cast lightning straight at them. Usually if they can melee you, you can hit them first and believe me, unless you are unlucky and do like 8 dam, you can kill them in 1 or 2 or maybe even 3 shots.

The real problem is tele casters and zons. Trapsins I can handle because my lightning actually has longer range than trap lightnings, and hammerdins they never can hit you before you hit them. Hardest opponents are wf zons who just keep firing guided arrows at you. GOD their range is SOOOOOOOOOOOO long and I can never get close to them. Another big prick for me is blizz sorcs. They always tele around, and a lot of them has a really a lot of fcr, and since the skill itself can hit the target easily although the caster is teleing all the time, how the hell am I suppose to hit a super fast teleing sorc when I can't even hit non telelers most of the time?

So It would be cool if you guys shared some of your strategies in showing everyone how strong lightning sorcs are... THX :winner:

Check the stickies. Teleporting is hard to hit indeed, but you should be equally hard to hit as you're teleporting yourself. Do you have you got a point in thunderstorm?

Ya I do have one point in thunder storm.

It won't be equally hard, because even if I do tele, lightning is way harder to hit than with blizzard which is a skill that just covers a whole lot of area at once unlike lightning.

If you constantly teleport there's no way the blizzard sorc can namelock you. Thunderstorm is your advantage, teleport close to the sorc and if she doesn't tp away fire lightnings, otherwise hope she gets into hit recovery from t-storm. Not much else you can do :)

get to 105 FCR so you get an 8 frame cast rate. while i've only experimented with 9 > 8 cast rates in pvm, i noticed that with a 9 frame i still got hit occasionally (by mana burning stunning cold enchanted monsters :grrr:, with 8, nothing hit me. EVER. you've got very nice equipment there. you might be able to get the 8 frame cast rate by only switching 1 item over.. the most obvious being from frosties to magefist.. you'll lost a lot of mana, but give it a try. that's all i know to help you with :) GL HF

Definately go for at least 105 fast cast.

For blizzard sorcs, you should have the advantage. For me it seems blizz does not hit right away. So if you keep teleing you should not get hit. It can help to play defensive as well. Ie tele back, fire off somet lightnings, etc. Another thing that has worked for me is to tele away, and then tele back on them. Works pretty well.

As for zons, with ss and max block you shouldnt have all that much of a problem. Ts should either stun them a little or trigger evade/avoid. When that happens you can tele on them and fire off lightnings, or cbs. It helps to just keep them in a dodge/evade lock. You could also just tele around them and fire off lightnings. If you do this fast enough you should not get hit.

Cb traps are fun as well, and work on most chars. And it looks cool :D
