Ancient Tunnels= Love

Just about the Ancient Tunnels...they are a great alternate to pit because it has no cold immunes, it can drop most anything (if not all things) in the game. It works to level your merc past lvl 70 and i even leveld on it...but even more so is the occasional rune or rare item...i really just made this to celebrate my finding of nats claw in ancient tunnels!!! yay :winner: hehe Anyone else want to celebrate items they found in the ancient tunnels? I'm sure a few orb and blizzard sorcs would like to contribute their story :thumbsup:

Is there as much unique monsters and champions in ancient tunnels? And are the ancient tunnels under lost city? or somewhere else in act 2?

its much smaller but there is the occassional glut of uniques and champs...under the lost city yes, its usually near a bunch of ruined houses

I prefer the Pit only because it's a bit bigger, but the chest in the Ancient Tunnels seems to drop better than the chest in Pit Level 2 (which always drops TOTAL GARBAGE... we're talking regular healing potions, regular mana potions, and usually 5-6 crappy blue items).

I've found tons of goodies in the Pit, though:

Verdungo's
Shako
Gul Rune
String of Ears x3
Tons of socketed elite armor & weaps
Tal's Armor

And that's just recently. I've found oodles of stuff in there.

Shhh.., quiet.., don't tell anyone. Of course I did die to a multi shot conviction charged bolt skelly once :( But I like the Ancient Tunnels.

I ran the ancient tunnels for like 3 days straight, I didn't find anything :(. But I'll prolly run it more again.

yes.. it's a cold sorc heaven. the only monsters who can possibly spawn with cold immunities are uniques. and they're almost always slow stupid undead monsters, so seeya CI!

hell i do runs in there with my pure fire sorc. the only FI's i've seen in there are invaders, and my merc has no trouble with them once i've static'd and used my crud bliz switch weapon :badger:

i can't think of any character who can do any 'area-type' MF runs as fast and as easily as a cold sorc in ancient tunnels. plus i found aldur's plate there :)

very nice, i would run pit but i prefer meteorb in the pit...ill just have to get my merc in there and i can do it with blizz. The ancient tunnels however, for the chest i found a snowclash (I dont know...i think the 2 to blizz is a nice asset to non-mf activities) compared the what i find in the über chest in the pit (nothing)

However, nice find with the gul ..mmm gul :drool:
