Does Orb kill faster in hell or blizzard?

I know blizzard does more damage but there is more mobility with orb. Which is better for PVM in hell?

I prefer Orb for good killing power for no cost in synergies, bigger spread and less cast delay. Personal preference really, some swear by Blizzard.

Frozen Orb works very well in Hell, but the shards won't do much damage, it's the impact that kills a monster. I use a Meteorb sorceress to run Hell Meph and it only takes a couple of Frozen Orbs to waste him.

Blizzard is also a nice killer, but with my triple elemental sorceress (no synergies for Blizzard) it's not as good as Frozen Orb. It's really annoying to try and kill a monster that isn't moving as most of the time all shards miss...

The main point of Frozen orb is that it CAN be more powerful than Blizzard - against a single monster that is.

The key here is to aim the orb from a long enough range to get the "eye of the orb"-explosion: I.e. the frozen orb explodes EXACTLY at the spot where the monster is. In this situation ALL the FO Shards hit the given monster. I get this usually on meph.

If there the orb spawns about 25 shard on the monster on explosion... figure your FO dmg and CM and then you dmg ;) Highly Theoretical dmg... :buddies:

Frozen Orb is much more point effective then Blizzard. This makes FO much more interesting in a Dual Tree build. Blizzard thrives on synergies, and the lack of them will render Blizzard far less powerfull then FO. However, a fully synergised Blizzard is a true bosskiller. Blizzard can also be cast from relative safety, which is not always true with FO.

Blizzard rocks. . If you have a decent merc. If you dont like mercs, dual tree builds are right for you. Hope you have all the + skillers for that.

Blizzard kills faster than FO, usually. But its far less versitile.

Basically, blizzard is only good for a single element MF sorc, mainly one meant for meph running. If you ever want the sorceress to be usuable elsewhere, then FO is much better.

I can make a great merc to tank, but from the posts it looks like blizzard is a better killer. Am I right?
