Question about Memory Staff

If the staff you make a memory out of has +3 energy shield already, would it get +6 energy shield after you runeword it?

im really suprised more people dont use this staff, you can really get a nice combo of +skills with it, and sometimes some extra energy. Sucks you cant get blocking tho

Found one with +3 Shiver Armor and made it a nice switch Memory staff %]
