Best sorc to run Meph?

Hey I'm curious as to which sorceress would be the best Mephisto runner.. Would it be a fully synergized Meteor sorc, or would it be a fully synergized Blizz sorc? Or perhaps, something else?

The reason why I'm asking this is because I've done ~180 mephisto runs over the past few days, and I want to make a pure meph sorc to run them more quickly. I just love getting new loot :)

Also on the same subject sort of, but pretty much off-topic: What character runs the Pit the best/quickest? I'm guessing most will say the Hammerdin, but IMO I think the Frost Zealot (2k per hit Zeal, 80-90% crushing blow, 500 periodic aura damage, and 50%+ slow to monsters) is a serious contender for the title.

this is always a question and you will hear both sides claiming 1 is beter but really they are both great. But I prefer blizz sorc

Now if your really going to run the pits try a pure poison necro

I personally prefer blizzard also. I have tried meteor, but not meteor using a lower resist wand, which i am sure makes a difference.

Get a friend who plays a Paladin with the Conviction aura, and you don't have to choose which build to use. :)

Orb and Blizzard. Static to halfway, 1 blizzard and about 2 orbs in hell should do it.

actually, i have a slightly different approch to mephisto, im not sure how MFing would apply to this but, try a Charged boltress or pure lightning sorceress.

All the skills you need to do mephisto is in the lightning tree, and i can take down mephisto in 10 seconds with charged bolt w/o static thats doing about 550 a bolt tho.

i agree with the lightsorc, i m building one myself atm and she just rocked the **** out of mephi on hell.Faster than all my mf sorcs can (my lightsorc is only lvl 63 while the mf sorcs are 85+)

i never made a lightning sorc but i prefer blizzard sorc because each hit makes his life drop quite a bit versus the fire damage over time of the meteor...besides the fact that blizzard has no time to wait for it to fall..the wait time can make it longer unless the meteor really is better and fast than blizz

Meteor sorc, due to 'moat trick' u will be untouchable by meph while u're raining him with meteor.
with max fireball, meteor and 10 fire mastery and my equip i have about.. 7K+ meteor damage, fully synergized meteor sorc will get much much higher damage so... meteor should be best imo :D

blizz. I tele right up to meph and just waste him with 2-3 blizzards. I dont really like lightning, as its very equip dependant, so not as much mf there as you could get on any other chara (I got a 84 or so light sorc also). Just my 2 cents

My personal favorite is a pure Lightning build.
Charged Bolt 20
Nova 20
Lightning 20
Chain Lightning 20
Lightning Mastery 20

While yes you wo'nt be able to take the council, due to their immunity, Mephi goes down fast.

Benefits of this build.
Faster cast is a must. I have 110%
Static, combined with Faster Cast is mean. It takes Mephi to 50% health in a flash, and I do mean a Flash.
Then go for Lightning. With 34 K Lightning U clearly rip away hiw life so fast that he hardly has a chance.

Personally I just tele right up in his face, I have only level 1 (skill level and then add skillers to level : 20 and you'll be set to absorb his blows even without more than 1 in Telekinesis)
I Static him till he's down to 50% then I unleash Lightning.. not Chain Lightning.. just Lightning. It does away with him extremely fast due to the Faster Cast.
It takes me max. 3 secs to kill him. (In 8 player games)

This is also a great sorc for Baal runs. Only thing is .. yes when facing Lightning Immunes you'r sold and so is the farm you live in.... but hey come on.. In team player games let others handle that.

Wow I was just about to create a thread on that. I'm a Necro lvl 84 & played with a friend who was a Sorc today & he did the Meph run in Hell in like around 2 minutes when it takes me about 15-30 with my skellies & stuff. The teleport of his Sorc was great since the 3rd floor is pretty much always clockwise from the waypoint he got there really fast then just teleported to mephisto & blasted him. He was doing the same with Andariel which took a lil longer. So basically I wanted to ask the same thing... I want to make a Sorc which only purpose is to do Meph Runs in Hell. Andariel & Ball runs would be great too. It looks like people are devided here with Blizzard, Meteor & Lightning. My friend was Blizzard & it took less than 10 seconds for both Andariel & Meph but everybody is talking about the Runs... how about talking how to get there? Can anybody make a quick link to these 3 kind of Sorc? Blizzard, Meteor & Lightning? Also if anybody here are doing Andariel Runs, is there any tips on getting to both the 3rd & 4th floor fast? 80% of the time the 3rd floor for Meph is clockwise.. any tips on Andariel?

*edit* Also what about equipment.. somebody above mentioned that it takes him 3 seconds to kill Meph in a 8 player game but how much % of MF do you have on??

use a fully synergized meteor sorc, i do 17 - 18k meteor-dmg and 7k fireball dmg with my mfgear on.
she does the trick pretty fast ;)
