Does OW go through bone armor if the bone armor stops a hit?

I was wondering if a hit, say with a guided arrow, is scored on a necros bone armor, causing some damage to the armor but not causing physical damage to the nec, will that attack trigger open wounds? Or does the bone armor have to be brought down completely to inflict OW with a guided arrow?

Interesting question. My first guess would be that OW is transferred as soon as you are hit and the attack is not blocked. BA should not even come into the equation.

It would be interesting to see if someone can verify this.

Well I can't be positive, but I know that when I duel necros with my ww/kicker my DF usually doesn't kill all the armor but the necro starts losing life. Some of the lost life is venom but venom wouldnt acount for a continued loss of life. I cant see if they are bleeding due to BO being on which makes it so I cant see the blood. However I am almost 100% sure OW does go straight through bone armor.

Yes,Open Wounds DOES go through bone armor.

It was tested in the barb forum if you need to know where I got this from.

I can say for sure that OW goes right through the armour. Crushing blow I aint so sure about.

Yes, it needs to hit the Bone Armor for OW to trigger, but doesnt have to break through it as in destroying it.

I know that CB goes through. Those damn Nipple-peirced mofos (Blunderbores I think) are the only melee monsters that can get through my BA (they have 25% CB).

since everyone is on BA, lets say your BA can take 40 damage. some attack was 50 damage. does 10 damage transfer on you?

Yes it does. In the past it would stop one-hit regardless of damage, but in 1.10 the surplus damage gets transferred to you.
