what about the green sentences while in a game?

i know that you can speak with people in green sentences, but i dont know the commands. can someone please help me

/w (the character name)
or you can use (which i never do)
/msg *(Their accnt name)

Where the thing in parenthesis is what you type minus the parenthesis
like i wanted to whisper my friend bob, who's accnt is *Bobiscool

or i could whisper the character BobtheGod
/w Bobthegod hey bob

Also, a helpful thing is to /f add (account name), where you can always check if they are online from then on with /f list (and if they add you too, you get messages when they join games and enter/quit B-net, and it also tells you which game they are in when you do /f list). Then, you can type /f msg (text) and send a message to all of your friends at once. Sometimes it gets confusing, but if you don't have more than 3-4 friends on at once they'll usually know who you're talking to, so you can talk to your friends without having to type out /w iamdiabloreturned every time you want to send a damn message :P

At least 5-6 tiems since 1.10 came out, I have rushed/helped/given free to some halfwit who adds me to their friend list and then uses the /f m command to talk to everyone including me.

Which @pretty much immdiately results in me cussingthem out and demendingto be taken off their friend list.

That explains a LOT. There's this annoying guy I gave a couple of low pally items a while back and now I can hear EVERYTHING HE FREAKING SAYS! Gaaah. But anyway, I have another question. I can hear people whispering and I'm fairly sure they're not using that command. I taught my friend to whisper the /w *username way, and that's how she whispers, but when she's talking to someone else I can see what she said and she has assured me she's using /w *. So what's going on? And there's this guy I traded with and whispered ONCE, and I'm sure he's not on my list because I added him, /f listed, and it didn't say mutual then removed him, and almost every time I'm on bnet I can hear him shouting strange and sometimes obscene questions at his friend "Ian". I squelched him and it didn't work. Well it worked, but I can still hear him. HELP!

He uses the /f m (or /f msg) command. this allows them to message ALL people on their friend list meaning even if its not directed to you, you will hear it. there is /ignore *acctname but it isnt permanent. that will last until u leave bnet..we really do need a /ignore list :(

WOAH, i reread that last part. thats really odd. maybe he is just whispering you alot like the annoying person he is. O.o either way /ignore *acct works just fine. here is a trick for you by the way. type /whois (charname here) and it gives you the persons charname and acct name plus tells you if they are in a game, private channel or a public channel (if its a public, by tht one thats allways in the channel list it tells you the name but game names and priv channels arent given to you). it even has the * in front of the acct if i remember right.

if there is someone you are having a conversation with type
"/w *accountname"

as though you are going to whisper them but with no message

now when you want to talk to them press enter and then the up arrow

there account will be there and all you have to do is type the message.

now you can save time whispering without bugging your other friends :)
