ok so i see 2 ways to get sockets into a new found armor... cube recipy or the quest from act 5. 2 questions about it :

- can you repeat the cube recipy as often as you wish or is it a one try thingy like crafting where you have to take whatever comes out ?

- if the armor is superior, you can t use the cube recipy, as i heared... can you get sockets into it anyway ?

background : need a 3 socket armor for my gloom and someone offered a superior duskshroud unsocketed so far... is there a way i can get 3 sockets in it ?

1) It's a "one try thingie". Though you can do it up to three times with a character. Just complete the quest in norm, nm, and hell.

2) You can use Larzuk's quest to put sockets into it.

Nope, you would either have to have a non-superior Dusk, to try the random sockets recipe, or it would have to spawn with 3 sockets.

The cube recipe adds sockets to an unsocketed item. Thereafter, it will have socket(s) and cannot be used again.
Superior items can be socketed by Lazurk (act5)
Lazurk will always give the max # of sockets and that number depends on the ilvl of your item. Every elite armor found in hell will get 4 sockets, iirc. I can't think of a way to get 3 sockets in your sup dusk shroud...

Ah yes, I've heard of a way to ensure 3 sockets in an elite armor. You need to find a "low quality" armor of that type (cracked or damaged?). Cube it to normal quality (El + chippie + armor) - the ilvl will be set to 1. Lazurk will put 3 sockets in it.
