Hi My first post:
kay I am going to be getting 16 points going into Lightning skills from equipment and charms. My Questions are since tele only does 20 before it maxes out do I only have to invest 4 skill points into it since I have 16 points coming from elsewhere? And my other question is if I do my sorc right and dont screw her up. Will MDR AND PDR by 27 each going to be good enough?
and finally Do I want to max my resistances or do I not want to? I didnt understand the comments made for that.
I know that a few of you put a lot of time into all the questions about ES already so I appreciate your response. You are gods :worship: ( thats a little sucking up for any annoyances I may cause asking more questions later on)

No, You must invest more than 4 skill points. For synergies, only "hard skill points" (which means points that you spend) are working. All +skills from gear do not count toward synergies. So you need 20 points in Tele (skill lvl 36 for you) to have the maximum of 0.75 mana lost/hp.

27 should be plenty enough. For resistances, it depends if you go hardcore of softcore, pvm or pvp. Assuming softcore pvm, I wouldn't max resistances. Even having -50ish% is ok if nothing goes through your ES.

Note: Teleport is not the skill to max for ES, Telekinesis is. Stay away from putting more than 1 point in Teleport, max Telekinesis.
27 MDR/PDR is sufficient from a 95% ES, nothing will get through (it negates 540 damage, does the trick 99% of the time...that 1% kills anyone anyhow).
Seeing nothing will get to the resistances phase as long as ES is up (and you're dead anyway if it goes down), forget about resists. -70%/-80% is fine. Only exception is poison resist...if you feel like it, you can get some of that.

Thx Z. Ya I knew its telekinises. <--- probably not spelt right. I just put tele to not look dumb incase I spelt it wrong :cheesy: . So since poison goes through es then it still makes since to do some resists if it isnt taking away from anything else on my char? I was going to use my maras for an ammy since Im not using it for anything else. Is there a different one you would suggest instead of it?

If it's softcore, dont do anything special to get poison resistance. Poison can't kill. It can just bring you to 1hp. And with max ES, (almost) nothing will be able to get that last hp. It feels quite strange in the beginning to be ripping through hordes of monsters with only 1hp without dying, but well... a guy has to learn to deal with the fact he's immortal sometimes ;)

lol. Ya Im hopping it will be a good feeling to do that. I am softcore so Im not going to worry about resistances then. Thanks again yellow

This is true, I've tanked group 3, 4 and 5 on NM Baal runs at 1 hps with my ES sorcs before.
@elmhurstt: Tal's ammy is better than Mara's. It gives more mana than Mara's does (through +5 Energy) and the other mods on both are either irrelevant or equal (+2 skills).
