Hey everybody this guide is for the people who want to make a new necromancer or have an idea to use for their current one. I'm going to list all the equipment you'll want on this necromancer, and many other things. Hope you enjoy this.

Stats
Strength: Base - 103
Dexterity: Base - 25
Vitality: Base - 100
Energy: Base - 357

Skills

Curses
Amplify Damage: Level 1
Amplify Damage is a great spell for revives, it doubles their damage after the bonuses they already recieve.

Other Curses aren't needed, the only other helpful curses are Iron Maiden, Attract, and Lower resist, but lower resist takes up too much skill points to get to it.

Poison & Bone
This is where the guide can go either way. Decide if you want poison skills or bone, because you'll have to have you're equipment based on this. The guide will go poison.

Teeth and Corpse Explosion - needed to get other skills, 1 each.
Poison Dagger[COLOR=Yellow]*: Level 17
Poison Explosion: Level 17
It doesn't matter how many points you put into each, because they both equally add to poison nova.

Poison Nova: Level 20
This is your main attack spell, and your best bet at killing something to revive it.

*Poison Dagger is pretty much useless even though it does have high damage, so you may want poison explosion which can serve a purpose to be at level 20 and have poison dagger go down to level 14.

Summoning
This is the heart of this Necro, and the thing that keeps him alive. There are arguments on whether the Clay Golem is better than the fire golem (http://forums.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=200749), but for this necro the fire golem is useless.

Raise Skeleton, Clay Golem, Golem Mastery, Skeletal Mage, Blood Golem, and Iron Golem: Level 1
All of these skills are pretty much requirements, sometimes you may want to summon a clay golem, but the others are too weak to do anything.

Skeleton Mastery: Level 20

Revive: Level 20
Use this OFTEN. It'll keep you alive. Even if you can only kill one monster, revive it, and let it kill other monsters so you can build up an army.

Summon Resist: Level 7
Very good for 1.10 considering the increased damage of spells that monsters have.

Equipment

Key
Unique Item Set Item Runeword Magic Enchantment

I don't expect you to find every piece of equipment mentioned, Especially the Enigma and Stones of Jordan, but it couldn't hurt to mention it. Some of the equipment can is kind of debated over, so it'll have a *

Basic ~ Level 1 - 30

This is pretty much the junk stuff, get a Stealth armor from tal+eth, wand and Necro shield that add to any summon, helms, Belts, rings, and amulets that add to mana, and a Sander's Riprap is handy for boots. If you can manage to find Frostburn, it's a good pair of gloves.

Mid Level ~ 30 - 65

Anything from Trang-Oul's Avatar is good right now, the only piece you'll need later is the gloves* for a wand I'd suggest a rare one that adds to poison and bone or summoning skill tabs, maybe even a White Wand, and the same with a shield.

End Game

This is the best stuff suited for this Necromancer, it may be hard to find, but it'll really help.

Armor: Enigma Archon Plate
You can't go wrong with this. Teleport is usefull for gathering your troops.

Shield: Homunculus
Awesome shield, the only thing that could even come close to this is a perfect Darkforge Spawn.

Wand: This is depending on whether you chose poison or bone skills.
Poison - Wand with the following things:
+2 To Necromancer Skills
+3 to Skeleton Mastery
+3 to Poison Nova
+3 to Revive
+ Mana/energy

or for Poison - Arm of King Leoric
It's not the best wand, but it is very usefull for mana, FCR, and a few skills.

Bone - Blackshade
Very Good Wand for both summoning and bone skills.

Boots: Marrowalk

Rings: Stones of Jordan
These are the currency of LoD Ladder, so it shouldn't be hard to get one.

Amulet: Rare Amulet that adds +2 to necromancer skills, mana, and resists.

Helm: Harlequin Crest, Andariel's Visage, or a Rare Circlet with great stats.

Belt: Arachnid Mesh
Probably the best belt for every character.

*Gloves: You'll probably want Frostburn, but Trang's is very good. You decide on this one.

Charms: Annihlus is probably one of the greatest items made, make sure you get one. Also try to get Summoning and Poison & Bone Grand Charms.

Other: Try to socket your shield, wand, and helm with Rainbow Facets (poison), they really help.

Other Info

Tips to Stay Alive
- Avoid Direct contact with any spell casting monsters, their elemental damages really hurt.

- Set your Configure options so you have all the hotkeys, then set your spells.

- Let your Revives fight the monsters close combat, you can sit back and use poison nova and support curses.

- Probably shouldn't PvP, this build wasn't made for that.

Conclusion

Thanks for reading, this guide will be updated soon with the list of damage for the spells, and all the equipment bonuses to stats and skills. If somebody already posted a similiar idea on the forums, I was too lazy to bother going through all the pages so I didn't know. Have fun with this character, it's a good build for hell fighting.

Well, its a well put together guide, but I doubt the viablity of the build. Face it, revives are overshadowed by skellys for a good reason, revives are stupid, low dmg,and need recasting, and skellys are better in almost every way. I would rather go with the skelly/nova hybrid.

just a couple things....

i think u mean boneshade not blackshade when suggesting a wand...
but for either poison/revive or bone/revive, wouldn't "white" with a natural +3 poison nova or +3 bone spear be the better option?

what about the timer on the revives? it seems that skellie warriors would be a stronger choice due to the lack of timer and the fact that they attack more aggressively (i hate wandering revives).

it seems if u go with the poison route u might want lower res.

just curious...

at least not hardcore cookie cutter. :cheesy:

I can understand enigma for the purposes of teleport and minion stacking, but Bramble should be an option.

Too many points spent to energy, never spend point in energy.

Lvl 17 stuff... what? Max psn and its synergies.

Get lower res, without it, you can't break psn immunities.

That's a little over 100 points, more or less the build.

IMHO, Best End Game Psn//Summoner gear:

Trangs Gloves (25% more Psn)
Trangs Belt
Trangs Shield (w/ 3 pieces = -25% Enemy Psn Res)
Bramble or Enigma
Mara's or Good +2 Ammy
Shako or Good +2 Circlet
Toss up on boots
Deaths Web

Get more P&B charms than summon, though the Nova//Skele has already been coined.

On Layout, too much color changing, wierd order, text changes. Too Random! Check the other necro guides before making one, best place to start, then test, test, test.

I have made my own guide as well.

Hmm maybe I didn't word my last post correctly... :cheesy: ...I think 20 is to much for revives, maybe 10 or so with adds if you're dead set on using them. Gear section looks fine. One thing about your stats, there was no in depth description about that stat points 100 in to vit, and 350+ into energy? Is this because the build is not meant to be hit, thus not needing vit? er..you'll never need that much energy. It would be much harder to do bone/skellys, bone skills need atleast 3 synergies to do any damage. Oh and you can't mention a poison necro with out Death's Web ;).

First of all...If your going with Poison...you max all 3 of them not 2.

My build woould be:

PD-20
PE-20
PN-20

AD-1
Weaken-1
IM-1
Terror-1
LT-1
Decrep-1
LR-1
DV-1

SM-5 to 10(+skills will do a good enough job)
Skeletons-1
Gumby-1
GM-1
SR-1
Mages-1
BG-1
IG-1
Revives-rest

Also...since your a Venomancer first a foremost...Death's Web is the weapon of choice. Your revives are there as support anyway...since your PN will kill faster most of the time.

Strength-91(or lower)
Dexterity-(Some like max block..some don't...so choice is up to builder.)
Vitality-Rest
Energy-Zero(the wonders of Mana pots...and if using full Trang's set Mana will replenish really quick anyway)

As you can see though...because of all the skills required to get to Revives...it would be better to go with Skeletons over them...and Skeltons will last longer than them also.
