Might be a silly question, but is there any way to speed up the refresh-rate between castings of Blizzard and/or hydra? Experimentation has shown me that increased casting rate has no effect on it... So thought I'd ask if anyone knew any tricks. :D

Thanks!

Pretty sure the answer is a firm no.

Yea there's absolutely no way to get faster than an avarage of 1,8 for blizzard and 2,0 for hydra seconds/cast. If you lag you can cast'm quicker though :D

Doesn't matter how fast you're casting them on the screen Soep, there would still be delays applied server-side! I remember reading somewhere that cast rate does affect the delays, but barely...it's pretty much negligible. Don't get 8 frame casting to try to cast Blizzard faster, it's only worth it if you have other non-timered skills that you'd like to cast faster.

i think soep was joking! Lag sometimes CAN affect your casting though! If you are lagging, and run towards a pack of monsters, you can cast blizzard on them. Sometimes, the blizzard DOES actually cast, even if you were way past 1 screen away from them! (i mean if your server-side body was far away from them, but your client-side body was close to them. THe blizzard does actually cast on top of the monsters server-side)

OK, Thanks. :( I was thinking that was the answer, unfortunately, but I thought I'd check to be sure.

Well for some reason, one of my crazy elite friends was doing runs with a 400 dmg blizz. He killed mephisto pretty dern slow. =\ He had lvl 28 cold mastery though so i guess that makes up for it for the higher dmg multiplier.

Then suddenly he started doing them insanely fast! almost as fast as me. Where he usually took sum 5-6 minutes each run he did them 3-4 minutes. I'm still faster than him ;) but i wanted to know how he did it.

And he said fcr. "But FCR doesnt help blizz cast any faster! the cooldown time stays pretty much the same!"

He told me to check again, and I've not thought another moment about it since. Are you sure its reduced by so little that its not worth it? i dont know, even if it was true I doubt I would be able to do anything about it with the junk i have.

The delay doesn't get reduced at all. The thing that gets reduced, is the amount of frames you're standing still (casting) the spell. So the only benefit is that you can run again quicker. This is why it's still useful to have some fcr with orb against mephisto, otherwise you're stuck too long in 1 place and his cold ball will hit.
