I am at lvl 32 and was I was wondering do they do enough damage to be usefull in hell? I mean with max synergies hurricane doesnt have too much damage. so would a huricane /armageddon or volcano druid be viable?

They are excellent in hell.
My lvl 90 druid can rush and 8 player game through hell.
the only problem is cold/phys immune...

So you basically use hurricane to kill your physical immunes right? I just entered Hell (at level 51 hehe) and they definately are a problem for me.

Hell, at level 51, is a problem for everyone. I personaly go in hell when I'm level 75 and my merc 70. Wind druid can be excellent or good depending on what items you use. Where did you put your skills points.

I'm 56 now, the xp is flowing like wine. My only problem is physical immunes, but I hadn't realized that hurricane was cold damage (I suppose I should have since it freezes target hehe)

I think I'll be ok. My Tornado is maxed (though i need elemental skill charms) and my hurricane is almost maxed.

Hope you don't mind if I hijak your thread if so...sorry won't do it again.

How does hurricane work? Is it damage per second? It is supposed to last 6 seconds, but with max CycArmor it will last 46 seconds. Can it stack? Or does recasting it just reset the timer?

It does 2k or so (depends on +skill) every few seconds to monsters in the vacinity of the huricane. It's cold damage. It lasts 50 seconds I believe, with max cyclone. You can't recast it until the first one wears off. Read fenris' guide for more info on it.

It deals out damage every 20 frame... So thats about once every 0.8 second. The chill is supposed to last 2 seconds, if I remember correctly.

Pure winddruids are IMO the most viable elementalst type in the game. If you're unsure, don't go hybrid Fire/Wind, because these usually require lots of high-end equipment, if you want to kill efficiently. My Winddruid reaches about 6K Hurricane damage with 100% FCR and maxed block/resist/etc on Hell. They really rock, and you don't need really expensive equipment to have a good druid.
Get a Stormshield and a Shako, then just put standard cheap caster equipment on the rest of your slots. Vipermagi, Mara's, Wizardspike, SoJs, etc.
Max block and put all remaining points in Vitality and Max Oak Sage as the last skill.

Max block and put all remaining points in Vitality and Max Oak Sage as the last skill.

You CAN recast hurricane. It then reset. Of course it doesn't stack.

Many choose to don't go block and put points into vitality. It works well because you benefit more from the oak sage and give you more latitude on what shield you can use. Also a defiant merc help for defense and is a good complement for the wind druid.

I just don't understand how you can do 6k damage with your hurricane? With the skill and synergies maxed and +10 all skills, it does 1700 damage... Maybe you mean hurricane+tornado?

Just out of curiosity, did you mean 6K Tornado damage?

Ok, that makes more sense. I couldn't imagine how you would reach 6K Hurricane damage.

No offence but a 6k tornado requires 10 skill charms anni and many other high end skill+ items. Someone said it was cheap. They lie!!

Yeah, well .. They're still very effective with few +skill items. to quote myself:

"Get a Stormshield and a Shako, then just put standard cheap caster equipment on the rest of your slots. Vipermagi, Mara's, Wizardspike, SoJs, etc."

You can even use a Whitstans's Guard instead of Stormshield to make this build alot cheaper. Anyway, this depends on your definition of cheap. Mine is with uniques that are easy to find or trade for.
