Hey all,

The purpose of this thread is to facilitate giving items to beginners and other people who need them. This is not to give out godly items, just basic items you may not want that will help other people.

It can be on any realm, any kind of play depending on the generosity of the people who chose to donate. Anyone is welcome to ask for help or to volunteer to give away items. Please no rushes or dupes.

Simply use this thread to volunteer to help or to ask for help. Please remember to specify realm and L/NL, hc/sc, etc. These items do NOT have to be for druids only.

This "Scholarship" is in memory of my friend and mentor Grimfang. He has long since retired, but may his memory and example continue to lead us all.

The GrimFang Story

Long long ago, when I was a noob (or at least more of one :scratch: ) I was in a situation most of you will remember. I couldn't beat bosses to magic find without godly gear, and yet I couldn't get the godly gear without magic finding! It was a ugly situation.

On top of that, the wealthy people of b.net typically just used thier superior wealth and skill to pk, rob, and torment us regular people or to make fun of us. It was hard for a poor man to get started, much less get ahead.

One day I was in a game and I heard a guy mention his Druid could beat zons in duels. I figured even I could beat a Druid, so I challenged him to a duel. Needless to say, I got torn apart and saw for the first time what a skilled, wealthy, and above all MANNERED dueler could do. I was shocked, as he effortlessly countered every trick I could think of.

After the duels, Grim handed me a soj. He encouraged me to keep dueling legitly and gave me some tips on improving my build.

I was shocked. Not only by the Soj itself (Keep in mind a soj in those days was a small fortune and far, far more than I had ever owned) but also by the fact that someone in the ugly, harsh, bad mannered world we call battle.net would be so kind to a complete stranger.

A resolved to use Grim's soj well, and traded and planned and invested wisely. Over a long time and through much effort trading, I turned that single soj into the scores of mules I have today. Everything I own traces back to that single soj given to me by a stranger.

I have tried to follow GrimFang's example both in dueling skillfully and legitly and in sharing my wealth and knowledge with others. I have run this scholarship for almost 2 years (although it has been discontinued the last 6 months) and have given out thousands of items to hundreds of people.

I hope this thread continues to encourage others to play legitly and to help other people enjoy the game. GrimmFang inspired me, and I hope his memory can inspire others as well.

I have always tried to help on east none ladder giving away some jalals, burizas, ik mauls, even a 4 socket griz caddy to the biggest noob of them all Kaz. So if anyone needs some basic ****z on east let me know and I will see what I can do.

Very good story, morale garb. My mentor is Kaz. Even though I have played longer than him, he has always been wiser and more skilled. He still tries to rid me of my VERY bad habbit of begging, so in return of what he and many others have done for me, I will also donate.

PS::: The items I can donate were mostly off of kazs mules.. o_O...

i can sort of relate to this story. Its how i started playing druids and posting. I was bored one day, about to quit d2, met NatureBunns in a trade where i was looking for shapeshift charms. We were chatting about druids, his friend joined the game with his buriza GA zon. They dueled. In my mind, i thought, yeah that zon is gonna own up that druid. To my surprise, it was the other way around! I was so amazed! After some more chat, bunns gave me all the shapeshift charms he had! Thats when i made 2 revelations, theres still some nice people out there... and... druids can actually kill! :)

Hmmm, nice to see that the "Druid council" finally have a "item collection fund" up and running :thumbups: Seeing that the druid was my first ever char on B-Net, brings back fond memories and very amusing (oft embarrassing) moments too... well, won't go into that. Anyhow, got 2 Dark Clan cudgels and a Earthshaker (both weapons have +druid skills I believe) to donate. This is on West SC Ladder. Anyone interested can either /w *IceBlueCool, or somehow get their acct name to my attention :D

I'm on East softcore ladder and I'm in the process of making a LLDing Bear... I just need a few items that if someone has them stashed away i'd be putting them to good use... they are as follows:

Goblin Toe -Light Plated Boots
Rattlecage -Gothic Plate
Bloodfists - Heavy Gloves
Any good LLDing equipment you may have.

Especially this: I doubt any of you have it... But if you could just possibly bother to pick up those non-magic druid pelts that drop. I'm searching for a druid pelt with +3 to either of these skills: The tricky part is it has to be under level 30

+3 to Werebear// +3 to Heart of Wolverine// +3 to Maul// +3 to Lycanthropy
Any combination of these skills or SOMETHING like it would be a miracle to me.

I suppose a +1 to druid skills rare with these skill bonuses would also be simply amazing.

And if there's more than one skill on it that includes these I'd probably GIVE (notice not a trade) you something amazing for it because i'd be soo happy and filled with joy that someone has something like this.

Well, I'm new to D2 (started 2 weeks ago) and am new enough I don't even know what to ask for. I'm building (so far) a summoning Druid and only have the gear I've found running around (through 2/3 of Act 2). I usually try to find a game with a bunch of players on but usually fight solo (just cause I don't really know anyone to party with).

Any help would be appreciated. I'm usually on for a bit each morning and evening (Central-US time). I play USEast, non-Ladder, SoftCore account name Vaughan.

I definitely like the Druid character but may start a different one to try a Were build instead of Summon. I like those wolves running around taking all the damage but I think I'll be better off in the long run with more active skills (instead of just sitting back letting minions do all the hard work).

I just joined the Diabloii.net forums just a little bit ago. As of right now i really have only one char and he's a lvl 45 Necro, but id really like to get back into PvP. I just applied for the Clan Honor channel in hopes of finding some decently mannered duelers. But as of right now, i have basically nothing to use for dueling. I was wishing to make a mf char to help me out with this and i was hoping that someone could give me some basic mf gear. I play at Europe realm Ladder. Since i can only play on a 56 k's :rant: modem i havn't really got any chans at picking up items in public games, wich make me pretty poor. Teleportation is like Mission impossible since if i get into a mob im pretty much dead. That makes mf pretty hard too, any freebies would be highly apreciated :worship:
I play Meteorb sorc and planing to make a Mauler, so any kind of sorc items and a weapon for my druid would be great, ribcracker would be so good
and also like peasant crown, chromatic ire and so.
Got some heavy sources in No-Ladder europe that i could be willing to trade for ladder items. :flip:

Anyone have anything for a wind/poison creeper hybrid on EHCL? A Jalal's Mane or, even better, a 3-socket pelt with +3 poison creeper and +3 tornado so I can someday make a Delirium in it would really be nice. I know that's asking for a lot, so anything to boost poison creeper or tornado would be awesome. Thanks a bunch, either way.

Don't want to be a beggar, but I'm trying to get a Carrion Wind for my fury/rabies wolf. No luck trading for one. I had a deal all worked out but the guy lost his.

No one seems to respond to my trade lists ever, so if someone could donate one, that would be great. My druid is already lv66 and really needs that thing.

Ok, I've decided to ditch a whole ton of stuff I have in nl. I'm only keeping my dueling equipment, but there is a lot left after those. Best thing I think is a unid darkforce(high runes already given away, sorry). TONS of charms and other medium gear. All going to one lucky person on US WEST NON-LADDER. Not sure of the exact amount of stuff, but I'm sure its at least 2 complete mules full.

This is mostly aimed for people just starting on uswest and for anyone who needs stuff to begin dueling. Please only msg me if you really need these.

The trick to this deal is, you have to find me on bnet. I'm not gonna be on for a few hours and then its kinda off and on. If I don't respond, I'm either afk, or baaling or waiting in the INSANELY LONG lines to join a game, so be persistant. First person I see msg me gets it ALL. I will post here when it is over.

Hey All. I know there are a lot of us new gus clamouring for gear, so I'll make this short. I have a lvl 30 werewolf druid that I'm going to max fury, oak sage, and werewolf on in an attempt to make a dueler. I've never played this game before or dueled for that matter, but it sounded fun, so I'm going for it. I am on Us West, Non-ladder, Softcore. Acnt: Steyral.

Hello im a new druid on useast ladder ive recently started playing diablo2 again after a year long hiatus, and that means im broke and have NOTHING lol, im making a hunter build thats all summons, and just uses a bow

thanks. i am in the europe nl channel. playing druid *brunoo* currently still going strong at lvl25 but would like to find more +1 or 2 to skills items and rare items. not many good items though with more rare items than uniques. Will be good to have a rare bow for my Act 1 Merc (lvl15) though.

I used to play on the Asia Realms last ladder season. Enigma and BOTDs are way out of my reach, but I had some quite good items like CTA and HOTO. MF runs quickly got boring and I'm not a big fan of pvp, so I quit.

Recently I have started playing again, this time on USWest. I am got a lvl62 fire only sorc. At the moment, she's very bad. It takes her about 3 min to reach and kill nm mephisto, which is really slowing down my mf runs. The only respectable item I have got is peasant crown war hat.

I will be very grateful if anyone can help me out with some items. I am looking for the following:
-Oculus
-Lidless Wall
-Nice belt with 16 boxes (my current one has only 12)
-Magefist
-Rising Sun Amulet
