Is a +2 trap 20 cast 14 all res 19 dex tiara extremely nice for a trapper? I found one and was wondering if this was more useful than a shako? Also do ethereal boots give a kick damage? I skimmed some of the guides but did not see that in there. Thanks

Heck yeah, that is a damn fine tiara. Better than a Shako, I'm not so sure, but it's still very nice!

I would assume that eth boots add +50% kick damage like eth weapons do.

Whether the boots are ethereal or not has no effect on Kick damage...

Why would 50% more base DEFENSE give you more kick dmg? Ethereal shields don't give more smite dmg either.

+str qwoulda been godlier IMO, but it's still pretty nice. The best traooers uve seen usually use circlets if they can afford it.

Hmmm, Trappers usually use traps, hence non-melee char. Well, the resists are nice, but with shako, u get more, more life, mana, +attr, and dmg reduction. Also, the fcr doesn't have effects on trap lying, I thought it was ias. So, I'd have to say shako. Just my 2 bits :uhhuh:

MB doesnt need to be spammed (they are stunned for 6+ seconds with level 20 MB) and laying trap speed has nothing to do with cast rate.. so the only thing the fastercast would be good for would be teleport from enigma. but being +2 traps and not +2 all skills, it not only causes teleports mana cost to be higher, but is even costlier since you dont have the surplus of mana from shako.

here are the fc frame rates from shadow's trapsin guide..

Faster Cast Frame Rates
0% - 16 frames
8% - 15 frames
16% - 14 frames
27% - 13 frames
42% - 12 frames
65% - 11 frames
102% - 10 frames
174% - 9 frames

arachnid mesh is a must because it not only adds 20% faster cast, but one to skills and mana. that brings you to 14fps

starting at 14fps, 20% will only increase the frame rate by a maximum of one. it really isnt worth it to sacrifice 140 life/mana, 2skills and 10%dr for just one frame. (especially if youre a claw/claw trapper with low dr)

It is definitely recommended to be able to spam mind blast. Plus, you can lay traps quicker after casting a mind blast with more fcr. In short, trappers with less than the 42% breakpoint are not as good as they could be. Most trappers go for the 65% bp, but some even go for 102.
