I want to make a character for pvp that uses smite as his main skill, easy enough right? But, what I don't know is if I should keep him smite only or have a backup skill? All I know is that I don't want FoH to be part of my build at all.

Assuming he will be pure smiter my skills should be:

20 Smite
20 Fanaticism
20 Holy Shield
20 Defiance

If I keep him like this, what should I add my left over skill points to? Stats would be the normal str for gear, dex for max block, and rest into vit.

For gear I was thinking mainly the gear listed in the v/t guide.

Redeemer
HoZ
Shako
Mara's
Enigma (Have Jah, just need to get a ber)
Gore Riders
BK/Ravenfrost
Tgods for lit users/Verdungo's for melee's
Bloofists or should I use Dracul's?
Try and get as many combat charms as I can.

The one major problem I see with this build is, assuming I get a 15% verdungo's, is that I would have only 33% DR. I would have to end up getting 3 bers, 1 for making enigma and 1 for shako and hoz to reach max DR%. Or I could try and get a coa and put a ber/cham in that, so I could then Um the Hoz and wear another Bk Ring. This would give me 41-46%DR depending on coa. Any input is appreciated.

I would go for charge, but stick points into accessory skills like zeal for lvling (anything with itd), vigor, salvation, conviction, whatever.

everything else looks fine.

I'm using shako(ber)+enigma+hoz(ber)+verdungo for maxed pdr. works well but it's expensive.

Shako is better than coa so i wouldnt even consider it.

gogo 5k smite!

Is shako+ravenfrost really better than a cham/ber coa+bk ring? I looked up the exact stats on coa and it has a nice 30%fhr and 20-30 all resists. The extra +skill, and life on shako could be made up by the extra bk. Just wondering if the reason you use that setup is because it gives 49%DR instead of 41-46%?

Edit: Was also thinking of putting the extra skill points into resist auras for any resists I might be lacking, since they have a passive bonus, namely lightning resist.

ur extra points could be thrown into charge too, to get good charge damage, for catching casters/zons and being able to hit em(attack rating too :P)

You need to wear Highlord's in combination with 10+ ias gloves if you shael your redeemer. It's so sloooooow =)

my current smiter uses a widowmaker on switch and it seems quite effective. This ranger/smiter has proven quite useful to me and so far i think the guided arrows do a bit more damage and are a bit more versatile than the foh or hammers. The great advantage to this is u can focus on acting skill wise like you are a pure smiter, and then you get an effective secondary attack from an item on switch alone. And with highlords and max fan the arrows fly pretty fast. just my opinion though :p

actually what i did was i put a -req jewel with a good 2nd mod, 125 dex is alot easier to achieve with 2x ravens than the 146ish base. Nef is a good choice too, but u can get knockback other ways too :p
