I have a V/T here is my skills:
Level 72
All Prerequisites to everything possible (except defensive aura ill explain later)
20 Smite
20 Holy Shield
20 Fantasisim
Now time for the Victator, my problem:
This is troubling because I don't have that many skills left maybe 30 or more if I make it to 99. I know I need conviction or FOH will be useless and with all my gear my skills are at level 15-17 give or take. (but I’m getting 10 combat Paladin skills Grand Charms soon)
I’ve looked all over the internet for some good advice and either the information I found was talking about how to kill a V/T or something weird like sorceress builds.
This is my 3rd remake in 3 weeks and I don’t want to screw up, thus I’m here for your dire need of help. I was thinking maybe waiting until I got the charms and seeing how bad I need the damage or put them into conviction.
Any suggestions at all? or help?
Thanks for help or even just reading what I had to say.
Also I might put 1 point into defiance so holy shield defense goes up anything advice about that? Will the prerequisites screw up my FOH damage?
Again, Thanks

Here's what I did, aiming for 93.
1 in all prereqs leading to conviction, 1 in convic. 13 in FOH, 12 in holy shock (nets max damage for the amount of +combat/+skills I was planning on), and then the rest in convic. With this I had by lvl 93 something like -110 enemy resists, maybe closer to -150 I dont remember... but its the max FOH damage you can get if you still want decent convic, at least for 10 combat charms with good gear.
Look FOH to be good requied special gear set up and a lot skills to invest - you can do ****ty damage damage with FOH in V/T model but dont expect it be any good in PvM or PvP
Griffin eye with lit facet madatory thing maxed foh obviously + lvl 25 (after items) conviction at very least. Need also maxing holy shock. I have one pure FOHer with about 4.6K listed damage and ~-200% lighting resist (-150 convction and -50 via items/curse) - he indeed do 1 shot 1 kill in PvM but only in single player game and only things that no LI - those take like 4-5 hits. FOHer pretty much forced have all time on switch lower resist wand
So to speak to get good FOH you need
20 FOH
20 Holy Shock
~15 Conviction (if not PvP) and 20 conviction if PvP

Why don't you make a V/T before talking?

I have it ... and speaking from point of expirience having pure FOHer so I know exactly how much damage each lvl of FOH do and how much - lighting I need to efficiet. So why dont you try pure templar first then speak from point of your expirience
I have it ...
Right...

Don't mess with Pravda, not a good thing to do :p
anyway, there was a FoH optimization guide around, else, you can try for yourself with a skill planner.
in my case, aiming for lvl 93 as well, had a total of +22 combat skills. iirc, the result was 15/13 or something like that.

Please do not speak of things you do not know of yet.
I keep reading over this post, and I keep asking myself, "What the hell did I just read?"

Don't need any experience. I've seen first hand how one-dimensional and easy to negate they are. Please list your V/T's skill allocation and gear. Just want to see why you think your V/T is not good.
My V/T built cookie cutter - redemer/upped hoz - everything related to smite is maxed - rest into FOH/HShock/1 point to conviction. Result - smite work danm good but FOH - bleh not even close to what I can see on my templar 1 point to conviction even after +skillers dont cut it. I have on templar almost maxed conviction (25 after skillers), lower resist wand on a switch, -31% from gear (griffion + couple facets) - still LI big problem but none LI templar do just fine albeit slow

What gear except HoZ and redeemer? Charms? Skill allocation? Level?
pretty much medioroce things
like +2 combat resist all 20 fire 51 +14 or so life ammulet
raven/dwarf star rings
t-gods belt
duress in wirefleece cannt recall deffence but medioroce
couple offensive aura charms I think
guilliame face + goreriders obvious
I played him till lvl 82 or so and got bored
skill as I said cannt recall exact distribution for FoH/HShock but pretty much like on every 3 FoH was 2 Holy Shock - things related to smite maxed Smite/HS/fanatism - which is not a point was that even pure FOHer have hard time w/o goodly gear in dealing with LI and mind you FOHer gear

So basically you have 0%PDR and no combat charms? No wonder your FoH sucks then. You pretty much have to take a V/T to lvl 90+ to be able to fully utilize it's potential. I don't care about PvM, but in PvP, people stack or don't. If they stack, good for you. Means they have to sacrifice better gear for light resist. If they don't stack, even better...
So that was your only V/T experience?

Kinda a half-assed build. Prolly how you got bored.
You're missing like the basic cheapest equip for a v/t.

Lv 72 isn't so bad to remake it. So if I was you, I'd remake it and get 10 or so points out of smite and stick them to support FOH.
Get your convict to at least -150. There difference between 110 and 150 is for your opponent to sacrifice someething else crucial.

Why do people care to kill someone who is unprepared ?
I long for a intelligent conversation with the one who is dedicated to pal vs pal duels, not just someone who dont have the means or desire to be good.
so 1 pt in conviction is all you need vs all classes.

Well blow me down! That's the end all kill all V/T set-up/build.
Seriously though.... Don't give out advice to people when you need more advice than them.
Don't believe everything you think.

Well thanks for the help i think ill try doing what persadian said and if it doesnt work ill just remake
i believe its better to max out the skills supporting foh, then moving on to the smite
like having this
20 foh
20 holy shock
xx in conviction(prolly around 10-12 skills depending on ur items)
20 holy shield
20 fana
rest into smite
imo having high foh damage and -150 res is important overall, the smite is ur secondary attack, and maxing smite would only really be needed if u were to take a head on smite duel vs another smiter, but u wont need that much smite dam, rather be able to deal raw foh damage on casters who teleport/running zons etc. if using upped HoZ u will have pretty good smite damage too.
Smite is your main attack for a v/t build if I'm not mistaken. A Templar would be a char with FoH as main attack. Imo it's better to max smite and synergies first because FoH is so easily negated.
