What should I socket into Claws?

I'm a dual claw weilding martial arts assasin with dTail as my kick with ps, ts, and planning on going the cot way for synergy.
This morning I made myself a SWEET duress on a laquered plate (i love the red pants) with 198% enhanced def and 19% enhanced damage. I use steelrends for extra cblow as well.
I do not use gore riders though, I'm using etheral sandstorm trek boots because of the much higher kick damage. I was thinkin of what to socket into my 2 claws.
Would 2 bers be worth it to add an extra 40% cb or should I insert some Lo's to get some extra deadly strike, any thoughts? Both the mods from inserted runes off the 2 claws will transfer to kicks right?

as well, I found my killing speed went up exponentially with the sandstorm instead of the gores for boots as in hell mode, and a weak monster, an extra small bit of %cb (small % of a small # is really low) made me kill slower as I was relying more on cb then actual damage.

Actually only the mods from one claw will transfer (your primary claw - its the claw in your assassin's right hand/the left side of the screen + some say to ensure it is the primary claw you should always equip it first). +skills, vita, strength etc etc will all work on your non-primary (off-hand) claw but things like crushing blow, open wounds, cold damage etc etc will not work with kicks. Remeber that the effects would still work when you hit with your claws just not while kicking.

Also have you tried using upgraded gore's? :) The damage upon them is very nice and will beat sandtrek (and provides some OW and CB). I'm not sure if you just found an ethereal pair of sandtreks and tried them or traded for them if you traded for them just for their ethereability then you should know that ethereal boots don't do more damage than normal boots - but if you just found them or didn't worry about them being ethereal and knew that that ethereal boots don't add more damage then I apologise in advance.

As for what to socket into your claws (lol the subject of the post) if you could afford the Lo's / Ber's and don't mind the effects of the runes being soley transfered your claw hits (when your using PS or TS) then you could go for that although maybe some nice IAS in your primary claw would be nice (I have no idea what speed you are attacking at) or a cheaper alternative than the runes could be 3x% ed jewels or 3x% ed +str jewels. It just depends on what your build needs (maybe you want some more ll% while charging up? an amn would be good there etc) I hope I have helped in some conceivable form.

The thing is, for the upped gores, Im on non ladder therefore they are unaccesible to me at the moment until a ladder reset, and I know etheral boots don't do more dmg but the sandstorms repair and have nice def, and good mods as well such as fhr and str and vit.
So you're saying if I socket a ber into my bartucs and use it as my right hand claw, the 20% cb will be transferred to my kicks, but not if I socket a ber into my jade talon on the left hand?
when the ladder resets, i'll get some upped gores, until then, sandstorm. :)

Ah I see sorry I'm just so used to ladder :) if you did want to get higher kick damage you could however always enchant a pair of mrymadon (sp) boots however the strength requirement would be pretty bad ;) Sandtreks sound like a nice choice for NL then and yeah that exactly what I'm saying about the whole ber issue :) (I believe I already apologised in advance about you knowing about ethereal boots doing the same damage :D)

ok, I think I got it now, all that's left is finding a decent thing to socket into my offhand claw, and since it won't affect the kicking at all, any other suggestions, dmg isn't exactly lacking and neither is ais with a high lvl BoS and a near perf crown of ages with 2x 40/15ias jewels.

I'm afraid that I don't think it would, +life, resis, stats are nice things to get on your off hand claw (just find a nice jewel I suppose :)). On my DT sin I socketed my jade talon with a perf amethyst for extra AR although I have a feeling that I'm a bit poorer than you so better options maybe open to you ;)
