View Full Version : Windy druids viable for PvM
Are windy druids viable for PvM (no PvP) I'd like to be able to solo hell when the time comes and/or possibly have him by a second MF character.
I've done alot of reading the past few days on Druid builds and the windy build interests me the most but all I read about is PvP!
Thanks!

Of course they're viable, basically work the same way. You'll want max block and +skills and there you go.

they're very viable!
i use my windy to rush/mf everything.
i dont even need to switch gear. though, i do have an ali baba and isted monarch on switch.
my mf gear comes from the gear itself, i continue to use the elemental charms.
my windy was made for PvP at first, but after having so much ease in PvM, i decided to keep him as that for most of the time.
So yeah.. that means i basically went the PvP route in terms of gear/stats/skills, and still used him for PvM.
Instead i switched magefists to chancies, aldurs boots for travs.

I'm just entering hell with mine right now and yes, they are very viable and also fun to play. Sort of mix of caster and close combat fighter. Too nad there isn't any official pvm guide. It's weird because it's one of th few viable built of the game. Physical resistants are a concern.
Viable is an understatement. Get a reaper's toll merc and I don't think anything will stop you. Tornado kills pretty fast considering it's not a 50k meteor or anything. Good luck.

I was thinking of a crescent moon. It deals lightning damage so definately a good one vs physical immunes. Too bad there isn't any polearm or spear with something like 5% chance to cast amp damage (except rare ones).

I have tried both and I don't think that the CM is nearly as good. The problem
is that the chances for the Static and Chain Lightning on the CM are much
lower than the chance of Decrepify on the RP. Plus there is no immunity from
Decrepify and there certainly is such from lightning.
The only charcter class that I have found that can use a Merc wielding a CM
is the Summons Necro. Nothing Else works for me.

CM
10% Chance To Cast Level 17 Chain Lightning On Striking
20% Chance To Cast Level 13 Static Field On Striking
RT
33% chance to cast decrepify level 1
Decrepify removes 50% of physical resistance. So some physical immunes monsters can still be immunes. CM deals lighting damages so it's a good complement to the physical and cold damages you do. But that's all theory and you know there's always a difference between theory and reality. :)
Another thing to consider is the price. Wonder wich one is more expensive and by how much.
