View Full Version : Quick question on self repairing ethereals

I was just wondering if you had a self-repairing ethereal like an eth demon limb or demon's arch or ghost flight etc. if the self repair would still work when you got the durbility down to zero. Im curious because if i make a java barb and using eth demon's arch and java that thing down to zero if it would still repair or if it would be totally useless.

Dude, just don't go to zero, then you don't need to worry about it. But yes I think I remember my eth Titans regenerating from zero. Hell get another two sets, and have them on switch...

yeah it's in one of the patch notes i think, that repairs durability will work if the item has 0 durability.

i used an eth demon limb on my zealot, it never came up.

I would be hesitant to test that out. I am pretty sure I have read that Replenishes Quantity works (which is the mod Titan's has) but not Repairs Durability. Which isn't too bad, because while you can easily run through a Titan's stack, you have to really be working hard to break a self-repairing melee weapon.

Will check my source and get back to this.

[edit] Yep, despite what the readme says, they only fixed the bug (was bugeed in 1.09) on Replenishes Quantity, but not on Repairs Durability. So it is OK on throwing weapons, not on melee weapons or armour.

I guess it's quite difficult to reduce a weapon to 0 durability if it auto-repairs itself ;)

Just to clarify this: Throwing weapons don't have durability and they cannot have the repair durability mod. These weapons have a quantity and the replenish mod which is basically the same, just having a different name. I guess that's what Rius666 meant anyway. A throwing weapon's stock gets reduced by one instead of losing durability in melee.

k thx for the help ya this was mainly concerning throwin weps b/c its pretty hard if not impossible to get a self repair melee wep to zero.

Why it's "pretty hard", some weapons have very low durability. I didn't test it, but I believe I can find an eth melee self-reapir weapon which can be broken in minutes.

Throwing weapons do have durability, though only the highest javelins/throwing axes have moderate durability compared to normal melee weapons. When the durability is reduced to 0, one javelin/axe/knife is removed from the stack. With a big stack, throwing weapons have a lot of durability.
