Ive just started playing HCL, and have allready noticed some very "lame" activites. Including tppk ...wtf is up with that? anyway... I'd just like to say ive found out about a new scam going around invlolving the download of "MapHack", the prog, when ran, opens diablo back up and drops all your currently equiped items puts u in the top left corner of town, and wont let you talk.

Other then hacking people have gottin very greedy in 1.10. I mean almost 3 times now someone has been rushing me for my forge, grabs the ist that drops (wich by the way never drops for me :grrr: ) and takes off, or "drops" themselfs.

This isnt really OT, but yeah there are alot of lame people on bnet.

Today somone was spamming in a game that he had some stuff and a facet. I ask him which type and he says make a game.

upon joining (with an ik barb) the conversation goes like this:

Danceswithmauls: Your pretty newb
Natsume_jyu: huh
Danceswithmauls: Your items are pretty newb
Natsume_jyu: They work pretty well for me
Danceswithmauls has left the game

I about fell over.
evidently im newb because with my setup i only had +10 ma skills, 37% dr(with skills) max res all in hell and 1280 hps (on an assasin, thats quite a few).

Its bad on b.net, but in some forums here, the "dupe virus" is spreading around more and more openly as well :(

About every other post is like: Hi, I am trying to make a xxx and think about using these items: 160/60 Armour 120/45 helm, at least one or 2 BotD weapons...lalalala what do you think?

If you point out that it takes no skill to play with duped items or that duped items are considered BM here (or at least used to be when I started posting), you pretty quickly get flamed in a manner of: Go away, everybody used dupes, don't come here if you just wanna be moralizing etc etc...like suddenly honest players have to defend their standards.

Needless to say, it is worse on b.net, even on ladder nowadays, so unsurprisingly more and more ppl form little groups to play in a safe environment and with their own rules among trustworthy friends.

Team Deviant, Isle of Misfit Players, KTA and the grandaddy of 'em, GAT, are just a few to name.

Have had a pretty frustrating day

or so trying to unload the Tal's amulet I found on asia3 the other day. the people act like Decard cain is there giving you a Tal's Ammy every time you talk to him in act 4 if you dont have one on you like a mephisto soulstone.

I made a game to trade it and some other pretty decent stuff I've found (laying of hands, occy ect..) to get um runes. No one would touch it or any of my other stuff. all were like 'you have +1 skill charm? You have anni charm?'

So i'm wondering wtf and this guy comes in my game, I'm already knowing he wont trade an um for all my stuff put together so I tell him what i have and he says nah I have all of that and I told him 'bah you all can get bent I'll just find my own damn Um rune.'

So he stays for a minute then says hmm you assassin I have unique assn claw. I give you for free. make normal game.

I'm thinking well ok this is cool. dude must not play assassins and he has an extra so hes helping me out nice guy.

I make a game. he comes in gives me tucs AND a jade. Gets another mule gives me the entire nats set a dwarf star, a string, a +2 assn skills crafted ammy a +2 traps crafted ammy. I'm standing there thinking 'man, this guy wouldnt even make a legit trade for an um a minute ago now this?????'

So i think these people on the Asia3 realm have either made botting into an artform, made duping into an artform or both. Hard to see that stuff I was given by a total stranger being the result of hours and days of MFing. He just didnt care at all about the stuff.

Anyhow clearly any equipment you find there is near worthless. all they want is runes and skill charms. Why they havent got tons of those too I dont know but in any normal economy I dont think i would have so much trouble getting a lousy Um or two considering what I have to offer. and I doubt you go into many trade games in the other realms and have someone refuse to part with an Um for a reasonable deal then GIVE you the stuff I got given.

While there are some generous people out there, that's just way over the top. It makes you wonder how much more they had on other mules (and how many other accounts they had botting :uhhuh: ).

Ok, so someone dowloads Maphack and runs it. Then all their items fall down. Seems a little lame on both sides to me. But yes, a lot of people will offer a trade, and when you say no, the first thing that comes out: "u noob?"

Anyways, yeah I was using chromatic ire and I was a newb because I used a staff and supposedly no one uses staves and apparently a staff that has + skills and a huge life boost, huge resists and which kept me alive is horrible and I am a newb for using it. I liked it though and that was all that mattered. Oh and he was making fun of me because I wouldn't tele, he said SORC TELE, I said no, he said OMFG YOU SUCK NO ONE USES STAFF SORC!!! I said well...now you seen one...your life is now complete. Die. :howdy:

Unholy I took a screeny in Asia of a SC Tals armor being offered for 25-35 Pgems!!!

Now by that standard i could hit Norm cows with a java using Spears and inside a weak have better gear than I have in HCX East!!!

Exactly Sting. I thanked the guy and told him all that gear would really help then I dumped it all off onto a mule. not sure what I'll end up doing with it but I'll be damned if I use it unless I get it fair and square or make what is to me a reasonable trade for it.

I mean really, if not for the possibility of finding better stuff than you have what else is the fun of playing one endless baalrun?

I mean, nats set isnt anything to write home about and has little value. ive even been given the claw, ive also found 4 or so nats armors within a couple weeks. on top of that i think between all my mules i have 10 jade talons, and about half as many bartucs (given some away) and i dont even mf that much. supprised he didnt give you shadow killer too (another claw that drops all the time for me.)

I do understand what you mean about not using handouts. i rarely use them myself unless i need them to complete something (for example if i needed nats claw to complete nats set i would probably use it even if it was free).

i dunno, i don think thats so lame. I am really sick of the gear criticism though. Like, evidently tals set sucks but tals + occy + shako is teh pwn. (even though it affords less life, menial to less dmg and a menial increase in mf).

yes. I've had a bunch of players there tell me I have to use claw + shiled becuse with 2 claws I'll get killed. I assure them that i have a good number into claw block and that its better in some ways than shield but they pretty much still say I 'NEED' a shield.

I pretty much decided that I'm going to farm the heck out of travincal and NM cows until I get ahold of some skiller charms and a bunch of perf gems then if I dont have the runes I need by then I'll have what the other players there seem to value and be able to get them.

My endgame goal is to get some midlevel sorc-slayers going. Form what I've seen there anything you want if you have skillers, decent runes and lots of pgems you can get it. I'll see if I can't provoke some dules pking with my low level guys and maybe take out some of the extra wealth floating around this realm.

Me being me, this is how I see it;

Anyone downloading a third part program, knowing rather well he/she is about to cheat, gets what is deserved. I think anyone who knowingly cheats should get banned, but that's me and the fanatic view I have on realm play.

Second, anyone who needs a rush to get where they want, deserve what they get. May it be stealing or a dirty portal, I don't care. By the way, come on... A rush for the forge and when the rusher takes the drop, you whine? Who did the most job anyhow? Bah....

dont make the mistake of thinking that poeple care about their gear if they have oh three dozen unassorted mules of half a year worth of playing. I mean, I hav given away quite a few nice things that I never used as well. up to and including some pwetty godly stuff. You'd think I'd be a botter too, but some people just don't care as they have so much gear that they know they'll never use it all.

It does seem an "awful" lot of fairly good gear, for someone who wouldnt except anything.........

I logged on Saturday, and caught a mate (beasthunter) who I hadnt seen for a while.

Told him I had lost my Druid (Windy) - and he offered me a Jalals.......

Now to me, thats a pretty godly item, so of course I accepted........
(Godly to me - never got one...)

I have, however said, when I get a ber/sur, Ill dish it his way, so who knows,
he may do okay out of it :)
