So, does the new Runeword 'Wind' make it a clear contender for the best Blade Fury weapon?

Hmm... I wouldn't think so, since it doesn't have any Crushing blow. Stormlash has static, crushing blow, twister, etc, and pretty high damage anyway, so I don't know that this would be better.
Where did you hear that this runeword worked? I'm living under a rock, apparently.
It's now posted on Arreat Summit.
I've done the CB blade fury build, and it's not as effective as I'd hoped. I'm thinking the Blinds target would make a good weapon so you can use traps to destroy things. The -50 defense is good too since BF assassins hurt for Attack Rating. Faster run gives you another reason to use Fade instead of BoS
Fleshripper > wind. Fleshripper is alot cheaper too. :D
MAybe it will be a good weapon switch for druids so they can get a free 91% Increase in Cyclone armor with the skill bug ;)
Why oh WHY does it have so crap ED%? :( The 3 other recent runewords give much better bang for buck
Because the 40% IAS can make up for it. If it was a 300 ED weapon with 40 IAS, it would unbalance it. The strategy here is fast attacking with other mods that are beneficial, like the hit blinds target.

No - Twister is a Prereq for Tornado and Hurricane, the backbone of any Winddruid build. As soon as you put one real point in it, the charges no longer give a synergy bonus.
By the time you can use this Runeword, you better have put a point into Twister, or you'll have the world lamest winddruid.

Nope it dont ... BF have fixed attack speed rate which is not affected by IAS - its 8FPA...
about balance think about cresent moon in PB .... it have all CB, IAS, Static ...

I'd think its best use for an Assassin would be on an elementalist. That sur rune though...ugh. And I'd still much rather have Fury.

Adding 100% more ED would've made it useful and not overpowered like BoTD. Now, it's just a novelty item which only a duper can afford to waste runes with.
Tanatus: I should have been more specific, I had gone off my own topic and was thinking about the 40 IAS on other melee weapons, not just for BF :)
Aerath: I wasn't referring to a Wind Druid. I was thinking about werebears, werewolves and fire druids. All you have to do is invest 2 skill points, get a lot of +skills and there's some free "life" available for you

Could you elaborate on that. In my view CB isn't going to cut it alone, it might have in 1.09 but not in 1.10. So if you went purely CB that is wehre your mistake were I think.
I personally have a CB Furysin and she is extremely effective. Maybe I cna help out a bit to make yours effective as well. Please post gear/skills/charms/stats/etc and I'll take a look at it.
The Wind runeword though.. seriously is not worthy of a Blade Fury Assasin it lacks far too many of that nessary stats.
Anyways let me hear from ya.
