:howdy: Official noobie to forums in the house!
Simple question. I have made a lf javazon, she's lvl 88, and have 48 points unspent. Where do I go from here?
My thought were;
-Try out poison Jav, for fun and originallity.
-Invest in charges Strike and other lf synergies
-perhaps more points in passives, most are base but added 2 pts to critical strike, peirce, dodge, avoid (all about lvl 13 with adds) and valk is at lvl 17 with adds
-Or try a hybrid with bow
Are the poison Javalins viable?
Or do i stick with the masses and do cs?
My passives seem to be good enuf, imo
I pretty much ruled out bow.
Your thoughts are appreciated.
Cheers :drink:

If your ever considering making a LF javazon, ive made one that has killed everything in pvp and owns all monsters. This is how i made her....
I left off all the charms she has but with the charms i have over 1500 life without bo and i have 2363 life with bo. I also do 5.5k physical damage and 500 poison damage and with LF, an additional 1k lightning damage. She has 20k AR with jab and just under 20k with LF. She has a tough time with necros and wind druids, but all other classes she does great against. I made this post in the PvP forum after someone asked for help on their zon.
Oh, this is mainly a pvp build, but it works just fine as a pvm too.....even in hell.
I can help you out. This is how I have my amazon set up (Ayla_amazon). I duel ALOT, so if anyone has seen her in a duel game, maybe they can vouge for my build.
This might be alittle long because I like to go into details so bare with me...ill section it off so its easier to read....
I'll start with the stats, then I'll list the offensive skills, then I'll list the defensive skills, then the items.
************************************************** ********
I dont remember off hand what her base stats are, but with her equipment she has:
str: 285
dex: 248
vit: 248
en: base
************************************************** *******
For the skills, remember that youll have alot of plus skills, so when I say 1 point in a certain skill, spending 1 point should at least bump it up to a lvl 6-12 depending on how many +skill items your using. I'll get to the items after I list the skills to use.
I maxed:
Critical Strike (% to do double damage!)
Jab (for melee characters)
Lightning Fury
Penetrate (huge bonus to attack rating)
I put 2 points in Valk for a meat shield.
You want to get your Dodge, Avoid and Evade each to about 50-55% at least. Trust me, this works wonders. I only have 1260 def. No joke, but my dodge skill is at 60% and I have 75% block ontop of that, so I actually block against attacks better then most characters.
Note: these 3 skills work against EVERY attack in the game including: FOH, Bone Spirit, Fireball, Blizzard.....bah, they work against everything. So getting these up is a must!
Put one point into Pierce for the sake of lightning fury. This comes in VERY handy when your dealing with a summoning character. 1 throw (2 at most) will more than likely take out most if not all of the his/her army Leaving them open for straight attacks. It wont make them much easier (depending on the skill of the player) but it will allow you to dish out a good deal of damage instead of dealing with the pets to protect them....
Note: Wind druids cyclone armour will absorb the lightning damage (and this goes for any lightning absorber too) but if you do enough physical damage with the jav plus pierce (and I say pierce because I didnt see it working till after I got pierce), it will counter itself and the druid will take the physical damage, thus, ending up with a dead druid.
:winner:
All remaining points should now go into the synergy for lightning fury. Power Strike, Lightning Bolt, Charged Strike, or Lightning Strike. You wont be able to max the synergies but you wont need too. Believe me, she'll be powerful enough.
By level 90 this should put you around 1k damage lightning fury (I'm at lvl 91 so I know). Not alot of damage but you'd be surprised how effective it is. Plus when pierce is added, this is an insane skill. Say your lightning fury shoots 30 bolts when it hits its target (considering that theres 30 monsters). Well, what if you pierce your first target and it hits the target behind it? Then again, if it goes through the second and into the third? Yea. Nuff said.
************************************************** ********
Now for the defensive skills (these will save you time and time again):
For melee characters: use Inner Sight. This will lower their defense ALOT making them waaaaay easier to hit. Dont worry that the skill says that the target only loses 150, 300, 450, whatever defense. I dont think it works quite like that....it may be a bug, Im not sure yet....but I casted this ona barb who said he had 21k def, after I casted it, he said he had 17k def (I rounded the numbers). So it works alot better than the skill actually states.
Now as for sorcs and necros and bowazons and any magic users, use Slow Missle. Depending on how high the skill is, you may need to be alittle close to the target for this to work, but once it does, its almost a sure win since it will basically render their projectiles useless....and this is awesome when dueling necros. Some might get mad that they cant hit you with their 6k bonespear but im sure you wont mind running circles around the slowed projectile either.
And one of my favorite defensive magics to use is Decoy. This makes an exact duplicate of yourself and even boosts your max life and everything. She doesnt attack, but she does use the defensive skill you have such as dodge, evade, etc. It's fun when you trick a character into attacking her, then you pummel them with lightning furies.
************************************************** ********
As for items (what i use):
Armour: 160/60 ias Whale (85 or 90+ life. I think this goes up to 100, correct me if im wrong). IAS is a zons best friend. The more the better. I use this armour because i use a.....
Secondary Weapon: CTA. Battle Orders is almost a must for any dueler in this day and age of dueling.
Main Weapon: Eth Titans (perfect if possible, but not required)
Gloves: Crafted zon gloves with dexterity and strength and +2 skills. (+2 because, well, its better than plus 1 haha).
Boots: I use Waterwalks but some prefer SandTreks instead (or so ive been told). To each his/her own.
Belt: Thunder Gods Vigor
Rings: at least 1 Raven Frost. Other ring can be whatever you wish.
Ammy: I use Imp Brow. Some like to use Cats Eye or something else, but since she'll get her damage from strength, Imp Brow works nicely. Plus it has +2 amazon skills.
Shield: Storm Shield. I socketed mine with a 40/15 ias jewel simply because an UM rune or something similar wont do much good if 1 fireball will kill her even with 75% resist. And im nowhere near 75% in anything, plus my dodge, avoid, and evade work nicely against magic attacks. So i chose more damage and faster attacking over a small bit of resists that wont make much difference anyways.
Helm: Shako. Again, i socketed a 40/15 ias jewel in it for the same reason as i stated above.
************************************************** ********
This is how Ayla_amazon is set up and she does extremely well. Any questions or anything I may have missed (im at work still), you can PM me or just IM me and ill help you out in game. Hope this helps.
:)
IMO, the poison javelin skills aren't worth it. They have great damage, but lightning based javazons are all about speed. You can blow away a screen with a single lightning fury... then once you hit a screen full of LI zombies in A1 hell, you're going to get bored... quick... jabbing is no fun either, it's too slow.
I kill faster with points in Freezing Arrow and Cold Arrow with a bow weapon switch.

You might want not to invest heavily in Penetrate because LF is auto-hit..

Not entirely true; the lightning-part of LF does hit automatically, but in order to leech mana/health, the javelin itself needs to hit, and that is NOT an auto-hit

The javelin autohits, i think. goes to a LI monster, start to throw LF javelins to him (with lvl 1 penetrate and like 1.5k AR) and you will see how EVERY javelin hits and damage him.

Hmm, that might actually be..
FA works like what I said tho.. maybe I got the skills mixed up..

It doesnt always hit. Maybe for monsters yea...but if you use jab at all (which i do) then youll need AR. When your running low on javs and are waiting for them ro replenish (titans), then use jab, unless you have some other close combat attack that you use.
Also, if you pvp, if you have a friend (non-zon so that dodge wont be a factor) that will stand in one spot, throw some reg javs at him/her. Some of the javs will disappear when they get to the target (this was the way in .09; im about 50% sure that now if it doesnt hit the character, the character will make a dodge-like move but it will look more like blocking except its not blocking). This is the same as not hitting, thus: they dont always hit.
This is another reason why some items have +??? def to missle attacks (shaftstop for example). The LF always hits because its magic and magic doesnt need ar but the jav will only hit about 80-90% of the time (nice odds eh? )
im not sure about pvp, but in pvm it DOES hit. and i think in pvp it does so.
when it dissapears, that means that you dont pierce , so the jav doesnt continue. But i think your oponent will be damaged. Do the example against a ciclone armored druid, or against a 95% lit resist with lit absorb character, throwing him javs while naked to lower the lightning damage to a point no longer damages him. Im pretty sure you will still damage him with the Javs, couse you do so against monsters also. lot of times i kill LI with this tactic.
