Hi All,
Yes indeed, KTA 4.0 is over. Last night 6 adventurers reached the Throne of Destruction and gave Baal a jolly good thumping and obtained their Guardianship. The team started a number of weeks ago and was made up of ....
FrenzyBarb - Guardianship
LeaperBarb - Guardianship
Fire Druid - Guardianship
Bonemancer - Guardianship
TrapperSin - Guardianship
Hydra Sorc - Gaurdianship
PoisonMancer - Died Worldstone Keep NM to Gloams (?)
Wind Druid - Died Far Oasis NM to Maggots
FOH Paly - Died NM (?)
Yes, I know the above is 9 players, but the Trapper was replacement for the dead Paly.
Last nights game started with a rerun of Ancients as our LaeperBarb missed the quest on Monday night. Same as last time. The 1st 2 ancients were rather easily taken out with Fire and Lightening spell, but Talic the toad, was Fire Immune and took alot bashing to kill. Then it was a slow journey through Worldstone keep, taking extra care not to die at this late stage of the game. A few dicey moments where players life dipped worryingly low, but fast rejurving, and backing off kept us all alive. Lister wasn't a big deal, but Baal, cloned himeself and having to kill both of them took awhile.
At this stage our Bonemancer had to leave, so the remaining 5 of us decided to complete the last outstanding quest .... Nik. The first 2 levels were not so much a worry of dying, but more a matter of doing the entire maps to find the stairs due to bad-luck navigation (Don't you just love not using MH ? hehe). Eventually we did reach level 3 and those scary Tomb Vipers. Up to now, my Merc who had only died once in the entire 5th Act, died like 4 times to the Vipers. Man they're truly scary. As for Nik, he was toasted rather easily with spells and an in-your-face Frenzier. Gogo Chiller.
I think this was one of the harder KTA teams to play. We lost 3 players in Nightmare, which made Hell rather differcult, as we had lots of Fire Damage, but not any other type of Elemental damage. Our Lightening Trapper was out of action for a few weeks with PC problems.
We never had an army of minions to hide behind, as neither of our Necros used Skeletons, and our Druids did not use doggies or ravens. However to made up for lack of minions, we had a bouncing Barb who's hopping on the spot kept all the monsters constantly stunned. Ever seen 20 plus Oblivion Knights pinned against the walls of Chaos Sanctuary unabe to do anything thanks to a bouncing Barb ? Awesome crowd control skill... saved our butt many times.
Being untwinked as usual added a extra problem to overcome .... crap gear. Resistance is always hard to maximize when you are dependant on what the parties finds. However we did find a few nice items on our journey.
Last night for example Hell Pinkle drop a 42% War Trav. We also found a 800 + Defence 4 slotted Armour. A future 'Stone' in the making ? I know our Frenzier is sporting a rather nifty unique hat, but its name as slipped my mind.
What other nice finds were made along the way, people ?
In closing I'd like to thank my comrade-in-arms for so much fun over the last number of weeks. Its been a real pleasure as always playing with you all. The team spirit, friendliness, humor and sharing ensure I'll never get bored with Diablo.
Thank you all.
Regards
