Uh, finally gotten around to trying some of the more unusual builds on HCL and this sounded interesting to me at first:
20 Dire
20 Grizzly
20 HoW
20 Rabies
Carrion Wind
Now, at level 48, having points spread into summons and Rabies i have to say that this is the slowest, utterly slowest, killer I've tried so far. And when I run him through a calc even with the free synergie and assuming numbers of skillcharms I nowhere near have this doesn't get much better on paper. Has anyone actually played one of these to hell and wants to encourage me to keep going?
Actually it sounds like a really fun build :thumbsup: If it werent for the fact that its HCL I would say go for it, but its a lot of risk there. On paper it looks good, you have minions to tank for you while the rabies does its work and the grizzly wouldnt be much of a laughing matter.

Well, the risk involved is not the problem since I thought this build can be done with amazingly cheap items unless you decide to load him up with +skills.
I did solo Baal in normal with him, as I do with all my chars, the first real test so to speak, but so far all rabies has been good for was a means of having some pmh.
But anyway, just your thumbs up for the build encourages me to take him a bit further, at least to Carrion Wind level.

I think that's your problem, Carrionwind. It'll make you stronger in the end, but untill you can equip it you'll really suffer. I'm making a Rabid Summoner in SP, and I maxed Poison Creeper ASAP and found Normal to be a breeze, and NM isn't proving muh harder. /players 8 all the way (expect for a Meph, Diablo and Baal. Baal's minnions I took at /players 8).
I say stick with it until you can use Carrionwind, I'm sure the sudden 378% damge boost will be helpfull ;)
I have one Rabies summoner in hell act 2 and doing fine by myself. Grizzly is just awesome, he and my merc is taking down monsters with no problems at all, but when more peoples join in there is some minor problems.. Up to 3 players I can dish damage fairly well, but after that it becomes more or less difficult to be more than pmh deliverer :)
