Just for grins and giggles I did a google search on Baalos. Besides some stuff in foreign languages and hebrew studies, seems it's a recommended name for your pet dog. >< How did that happen???

And all these years since D1 came out I thought I made it up :scratch:

3. The word for salt in Greek.

I just saw it on a shirt and thought it was a cool name!

Well 90% of my hits are the Viamede Resort on Stoney Lake inOntario. Which I know of but was NOT where I took the name from. Otherwise the hits are that darling book "Elsie at Viamede" apparenlty part of the Elsie series...who knew....looks lamer than lame :( ...would of thought there would have been something cooler but gave up after 6 pages....

Here's a quick description for ya:

Halas is a city like its inhabitants, simple and to the point. Only barbarians would even consider swimming in the lake that provides them protection instead of waiting for the raft to carry them across, swimming without fear in the frigid waters. The city is relatively small, but has everything that any larger city has in half the space. Barbarians are usually the only ones in the streets, but you can occasionally see a human or half-elf, or even other more tropical races. Frequent snowstorms keep the streets and rooftops white year-round.
